The varieties of assessment methods will be employed including assignments in a form of written work or practical exercise so as to enhance self development. These will focus on a minimum of two (02) tasks including group assignments, individual assignments and timed essays.

Award

Successful participants will be awarded appropriate certificate by the Tanzania Institute of Education for the course he/she has attended.

The interested and qualified candidates should process their application to reach the undersigned not later than two weeks before the commencement of the particular course. The application letter should clearly indicate your qualifications, intentions and type of the course to be studied as well as its relevance to your current undertakings.

Each application should be accompanied by a non- refundable application fee of T.sh.20,000/= payable to TIE through the CRDB Bank account no. A/ C.0150013986401 (TIE- Curriculum Training) and submit the scanned pay-in slip together with your application.

The course Fee should be paid through the same account before the start of a particular course upon receipt of the confirmation letter /e-mail from the Institute.

SHORT COURSES PROGRAMMES

I Introduction

Tanzania Institute of Education is a public Institution under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. Among other responsibilities, TIE has the role of designing and conducting training programs to various educational stakeholders aiming at improving the provision of quality education at pre-primary, primary, secondary schools and teachers’ colleges. The institute was established by the Act of Parliament No. 13 of 1975 and has been registered as an institution of higher learning (non-university) by NACTE - REG/PWF1040.

TIE is currently conducting the following courses. Each course takes ten days.

Tuition Fees

All courses will be charged depending on the duration whereby a course of ten days will cost T.sh.250,000/= per person. This amount will cater for training costs including necessary facilities, stationery, and facilitation fees. Participants will be required to arrange for their transport, accommodation and other personal necessities during the course.

Target Group

The target key groups in this training programme includes classroom teachers, college tutors, examination officers, school inspectors, district/ regional education officers, district/regional / school academic coordinators, Head of schools, school counselors, ward education coordinators, TRC Coordinators, textbook authors/ writers, designers producers of teaching /learning materials and other educational practitioners.

Courses to be Offered


Delivery and Assessment Modalities

This training programme is offered on a part time basis. The first batch of trainees started the programme on 26th August 2013.

All courses will run concurrently for ten working days during afternoon from 2.00pm to 6.00pm every day.

The courses will be delivered in both English and Swahili. Active participation is highly emphasized during the course and interactive approaches are employed for each course.
