Risk Assessment (April 2017)

Aims

The overall aim of carrying out risk assessment is to remove potential hazards and thus the inherent detrimental effects and consequences; this includes :-

  1. identifying potential hazards in the operations of the Parish Council;
  2. evaluating the consequences and outcomes of hazards;
  3. introducing control measures as far as is reasonably practicable toward total eradication of hazards.

Main Insurance covers

General insurance to meet losses, injury and/or damage to the person or property of the insured.

Public Liability to meet claims for compensation for losses, injury and/or damage due to the

negligence of the insured in providing goods and/or carrying out services.

Employer’s Liability to meet employees’ claims for compensation for losses, injury and/or damage due to the negligence of the insured in making adequate employment provisions.

Fidelity Guarantee an agreement whereby, for a designated sum of money, one party agrees to

guarantee the loyalty and honesty of an agent, officer or employee of an employer

by promising to compensate the employer for losses incurred as a result of the

disloyalty, dishonesty or misconduct of such individuals: includes injury arising from slander (verbal) or libel (written).

Cemetery Keeping

·  The risks associated with grass cutting when people are on site, especially children playing, must be addressed in the Risk Assessment and method statement provided by the Contractor;
