Position Objective

The Mobility/ IL Specialist will be responsible for managing LINC’s relationship with community members, consumers, provider agencies, contract transportation providers, and outside organizations to provide exceptional customer service by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of LINC’s programs as well as team members within the organization. The Mobility/IL Specialist will contribute to a positive working environment by providing meticulous attention to detail, a readiness to help others (in and outside of the office), and a willingness to do what needs to be done. The Mobility/IL Specialist will have a strong commitment to LINC’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

Information, Referral and Data Entry

• Provide information and referral service to people with disabilities and the community at large

• Develop and maintain appropriate referral and resource lists in accordance with LINC policy and program procedures

• Develop and maintain transportation consumer log in accordance with LINC policy and program procedures

• Responsible for intake process for transportation consumers and providers

• Process data entry required in accordance with LINC policy and program procedure

• Attention to data accuracy to ensure the information provided to transportation consumer or community member is accurate and up to date

Outreach

• Provide education to people with disabilities, other agencies, and the general public on transportation related issues, Independent Living Philosophy, and LINC programs

• Participate in coalitions and boards as approved by supervisors to advance awareness of Independent Living Philosophy and LINC programs and services

• Identify opportunities to collaborate with outside agencies to advance awareness of rural transportation issues, Independent Living Philosophy and LINC programs and services.

Customer Service

• Create an environment that promotes and encourages participants to achieve their desired level of independent living through providing a positive, helpful, and courteous experience in all interactions with LINC

• Help promote a positive relationship between community members and LINC team members

• Demonstrate quality customer service while addressing participant inquires over the phone and in person

• Address transportation consume/ IL consumers inquiries and questions in a timely, accurate, and considerate manner according to LINC policy and program procedures

• Work closely with all LINC team members to provide a quality participant experience across programs

• Coordinate and provide comprehensive independent living skills evaluations to determine environmental, function, and community barriers and recommend strategies for reducing or eliminating these barriers Advocacy and Peer Support

• Coordinate and provide individual and systemic advocacy services

• Coordinate and provide peer support services

Other Duties

• Have good knowledge of all LINC programs and services

• Maintain a positive and open dialogue with team members and supervisors

• Must have a working knowledge of computers and computer programs as job duties require (Excel is a must for this position)

• Have good knowledge of Health and Welfare appropriate policies, such as Adult Protection and Mental Health Guidelines

• Provide Independent Living Skills training and Peer Support as time allows and directed by supervisors

• All other duties as assigned by supervisors
