Title

This is where you start your essay. Remember that it is Times New Roman, 12 font, double-space, and 1” margins for your formatting.

Indent every paragraph. You will not need a title page or works cited. This is from your brain/memories so there is nothing to document. Your essay should be no shorter than 1.5 pages and no longer than 4 pages. A paper copy is due in class on Wednesday (9/4) or Thursday (9/5) on BB by 5pm.

I will be grading you on the page length and the formatting. I will be making comments on grammar and such so that you can get a feel for how I grade formal essays. On essay 2 you will be graded on content as well. This essay is worth 100 points total.

Have fun with it, use it as therapy, or muddle through it. I do not care how you get to the finish line as long as you get there. My job is to give you the tools to do it – you job is to utilize those tools in a way that works for you. Every writer/student is different. Some will have to create an outline to get their ideas in line. Some will write a list. Some will just purge on the screen and then edit later. Whatever works for your way of writing – as long as it works for you – I am ok with you doing it that way. End result is an essay that follows the formatting of the assignment. Good Luck! If you need any help along the way – I will be in the Learning Center this Thursday from 8-4. Len Miller will be there same day from 4-9. He is fabulous. J
