The list below, arranged alphabetically by schools, is given to us by the colleges. More information and details is available by contacting the individual college or university. The list shows merit money offered through the admissions office. You are advised to also check with the academic department which is associated with your major for additional leads.
Avila University
Scholar Award: Up to $13,000 annually, for four years (includes $1,000 residence hall grant). Full-time first year students scoring 28 or higher on the ACT or 1260 or higher on the SAT (critical reasoning and math) and holding a 3.0 gpa or higher will be considered.
Avila Achievement Scholarship: up to $8,500 annually for four years. Full-time, first year students considered based on high school GPA and test score. (See scholarship calculator at Recipients must maintain a 2.5 gpa for renewal. Actual award requires an official campus visit.
Avila Grant: amount varies. Awarded to full-time first year students who demonstrate financial need by filing the FAFSA.
Avila Heritage Grant: provides up to $1,000 annually for four years. Awarded to full-time first-year students who are dependents or siblings of Avila alumni or family members of Avila students.
Performance Grant: awarded to students demonstrating talent or interest in the areas of advertising, art, athletics, campus ministry, mock trial, music, newspaper, theatre or video production.
Residence Hall Grant: provides $1,000 annually for four years. Student must be living in Avila student housing to receive grant.
Service to the Faith Grant: provides up to $2,500 annually for four years. Any full-time, first year student who is a dependent of a lay employee or a nephew/niece of a religious who is engaged full-time in a Catholic ministry will be considered.
Avila Work Program: provides on-campus, part time employment opportunities to students who do not qualify for the Federal Work Study program.
University of Central Missouri
Distinguished Scholarship: $5,000/year. Minimum 30 ACT/1320 SAT and upper 5% class rank or 3.75 gpa.
Board of Governors' Scholarship: $4,000/year. Minimum 28 ACT/1240 SAT and upper 10% class rank or 3.5 gpa.
President's Scholarship: $3,000/year. Minimum 26 ACT/1170 SAT and upper 25% class rank or 3.25 gpa.
University Scholarship: $2,000/year. Minimum 24 ACT or 1090 SAT and upper 25 % class rank or 3.25 gpa.
Academic Excellence Scholarship: $1,500/year. Minimum 22 ACT or 1020 SAT and upper 30% class rank or 3.25 gpa.
Boys State/Girls State Scholarship: $1,500/year. Minimum 22 ACT or 1020 SAT.
Leadership Award: $1,000/year. Minimum 21 ACT or 980 SAT and upper 30 % class rank or 3.25 gpa.
Second Generation Scholarship: $4,000/year. Minimum 22ACT or 1020 SAT and upper 30% class rank or 3.25 gpa.
Departmental Achievement Awards: Value determined by each academic department. . Selected by CMSU Academic Department.
College of the Ozarks

Columbia College
Columbia College Scholarship: full tuition, room and board. Five students are selected from the Scholarship Days on Dec. 8, 2007 and Feb. 2, 2008 to receive this award. New freshman applicants who demonstrate outstanding academic accomplishments (minimum 3.5 cumulative gpa and 25 ACT/1140 SAT) and school/community leadership are eligible to compete. Presidential Scholarship: full tuition. Five students are selected from the Scholarship Days on Dec. 8, 20057and Feb. 2, 2008 to receive this award. Endowed and Heritage Awards: Amount varies. Variable awards for new students who show promise of academic success.
Capstone Scholarship: Half-tuition plus $2,000. Awarded to all new freshmen with a minimum 28 ACT/1260 SAT and either a 3.75 cumulative gpa or GED score of 3200. Renewable possibilities.
Keystone Scholarship: Half-tuition. Awarded to all new freshmen with a minimum 24 ACT/1110 SAT and either a 3.4 cumulative GPA or GED score of 2900. Renewable possibilities.
Cornerstone Scholarship: $2,000. Awarded to all new freshmen with a minimum 22 ACT/1030 SAT and either a 3.2 cumulative gpa or GED score of 2850. Renewable possibilities.
Alumni Legacy Scholarship: 20% tuition discount. Awarded to all new freshmen who have a minimum 26 ACT/1180 SAT and either a 3.5 cumulative gpa or a 3040 GED who are children of alumni who received an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree at Columbia College. Renewable possibilities.
Alumni Legacy Grant: 15% tuition discount. Awarded to new students who are children of alumni who received an associate, bachelor's or master's degree at Columbia College. Renewable possibilities.
Disciples of Christ Award: $1,000. Awarded to Disciples of Christ members who are nominated by their minister and who are first-time Columbia College students. Renewable with a 2.5 cumulative gpa. No limit per congregation.
Disciples of Christ Schiffman Supplementary Award: $1,000. Awarded to recipients of the Disciples of Christ Award. Requires minister's letter of endorsement. Renewable with a 2.5 gpa. No limit per congregation.
Valedictorian/Salutatorian Award: $1,000. Awarded to all new freshmen ranked first or second in their high school graduating class. Nonrenewable.
Two-in-a-Family Grant: Awarded to full-time students with an immediate family member enrolled full-time at Columbia College. Each student will receive a $500 award. Renewable with good academic standing.
Drury University
Presidential Scholarship: $2,000 annual award. ACT 26-28 or 1760-1910 on SAT plus 3.5 gpa or higher. Participate in the Drury Scholars Interview weekend. By invitation only.
Dean's Scholarship: Amounts vary. Strong academic achievement based on cumulative high school gpa, class rank, test scores and strength of curriculum.
Trustee Scholarship: 10 full tuition awards, 10 $12,000 awards, 10 $10,000 awards. ACT of 29 or higher on the ACT or 1920 on the SAT. Cumulative gpa of 3.5 or higher. Participate in Drury Scholars interview weekend.
Leadership Scholarship: $1,000 annual award. Submit a resume of leadership activities. 250 word essay on the topic "What does leadership mean to me?" Participation in a campus experience is strongly recommended.
Alumni Children's Scholarship: $500 annual award. Awarded to full-time degree-seeking day school students whose parents earned a degree at Drury University.
Church Scholarship: $500 annual award. For active members of the United Church of Christ or the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Submit a letter of recommendation on church letterhead from your minister. Submit a resume or listing of activities you have participated in while a member of your congregation. Participate in a campus ministry activity at Drury U.
Clergy Dependent Scholarship: $7,000 annual award. Awarded to dependents of clergy in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and when funds are available, to dependents of clergy in the United Church of Christ. Submit a letter on church stationery indicating your parent is an ordained minister in either denomination. Participate in Disciples/UCC campus ministry activities at Drury U.
Activity Awards: Art Award (majors only), Athletic Award, Debate Award, Music Award, Theater Award.
Evangel University
Founders Scholarship:2 full-ride and 10 tuition only awarded. Renewable. 3.8 gpa and 30 ACT/1260 SAT.
Presidential Scholarship: $2,500 per year. 3.4 gpa and 28 ACT/1150 SAT.
Academic Achievement Scholarship: $2,000 per year. Renewable. 3.2 gpa and 26 ACT/1060 SAT.
EU Honor Scholarship: $1,500 per year. Renewable. 3.2 gpa and 24 ACT/980 SAT.
Alumni Legacy Scholarship: $1,000 per year. Awarded yearly. For children of graduated alumni who are first-time freshmen and are enrolled in the traditional undergraduate program.
Church Leadership Matching Scholarship: Amount varies. Evangel will match up to $500 yearly. Awarded yearly. Awarded to students who are involved in leadership in either church, school, or community.
Endowed and Private Scholarship: Amount varies. EU offers a variety of these. While the majority of these are available to returning students, some are available to a first-time freshmen.
Athletic Scholarship: Amount varies. Available to students who qualify to participate in an EU athletic program.
Music Scholarship: Amount varies. Available to students who participate in a variety of vocal and instrumental performance groups.
National Fine Arts Scholarship: $2,000. 25 awarded. Awarded to students who have been recipients of a National Merit Award or "Superior with Honors" rating on the National level. Recipients of these scholarships must be first-time freshmen and must complete a scholarship application provided by Evangel.
Forensics Scholarship: Amount varies. Awarded on the basis of merit and demonstrated performance.
Valedictorian Scholarship: $500. Awarded to first-time freshmen who are enrolled full time. Class enrollment must be greater than five.
National Bible Quiz Scholarship: $1,000. 5 awarded. Awarded to students who have been one of the top five individual Bible quizzers or recipients of the National Memorization Award.
Fontbonne University
Presidential Scholarships: ranging up to $15,000. 97 % high school GPA as computed by Fontbonne, a combined 1250 SAT or 30 ACT and a rank in the top 5% of their class.
Dean's Competitive Scholarships: ranging from $9,000-$11,000. 90% high school GPA as computed by Fontbonne, a combined 1200 SAT or 27 ACT and a high school rank in the top 10%.
The Founders Scholar Award: ranging from $7,500-$9,500. Minimum 25 ACT/1140SAT and a 85% high school GPA as computed by Fontbonne. Rank in class and college prep curriculum also considered for this award.
The Alumni Scholar Award: ranging from $6,500-$8,500. Minimum 23 ACT/1070SAT and a 80 % high school GPA as computed by Fontbonne. Additional consideration will be given to the student's high school curriculum and rank in class.
The Freshman College Scholar Award: ranging from $5,000-$6,000. Minimum 20 ACT/950 SAT with a 75 % high school GPA as computed by Fontbonne. Additional consideration will be given to the student's high school curriculum and rank in class.
Campus Service Awards: are granted on the basis of demonstrated leadership or extracurricular activities in high school and college. Students must submit a self statement listing their extracurricular and leadership activities. Applicants must have a high school gpa of 2.5 and be enrolled at Fontbonne full time.
Talent Scholarships are also given in the areas of Art, English Writing, Math/Computer Science and Theater ranging from $500-$2,000. More information about these are available by contacting Fontbonne.
Hannibal LaGrange College
Merit Scholarships:
Level A--50% of base charges are covered. Requires a 32-36 ACT
Level B--40% of base charges are covered. Requires a 30-31 ACT

National Merit Scholarship: National Merit finalists receive 100% tuition, general fees, and room/board scholarships.
Performance: Scholarships are offered in the areas of communication/arts/theatre, New Edition, Praise Song, Vision, Covenant, Concert Choir, Concert Band and Visual Arts.
Athletic: Scholarships for men's and women's varsity and junior varsity levels are offered.

Kansas City Art Institute
Freshman Competitive Scholarship: exceptional admissions portfolio, 3.0 gpa and 20 ACT or 1425 SAT
Freshman merit Award: Participants who are not selected to receive a Competitive Scholarship will be immediately evaluated for Merit Award Consideration.
Lincoln University
Curators Scholarship: covers approximately 90% of the cost of tuition and fees, on campus housing and a $450 book allowance per semester. Top 10% rank, 24 ACT or higher and/or have a 3.4 gpa
Presidential Scholarship: covers approximately 80% of the cost of tuition and fees, $1,000 per semester toward on-campus housing, and a $400 book allowance per semester. Top 20% rank, 23 ACT and/or 3.0 gpa
Maryville University
Freshmen Achievement Awards: $500-$8,500. awarded to freshmen by using both their cumulative high school GPA and highest composite ACT/SAT scores. Contact the admissions office for more information.
M-PACT Scholarship: $1,500 per year. Selection is based on potential to make an M-PACT at Maryville University. Competition. University Scholars Program: Presidential level (tuition, room and board) and Trustee level (tuition). Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and 28 composite ACT or 1240 SAT combined score (not including essay). Competitive process. Separate application.
Minority Scholars Program: Presidential level (tuition, room and board) and Trustee level (tuition). 3.3 cumulative GPA and 25 composite ACT/1130 SAT combined score (not including essay). Competitive process. Separate application. Legacy Award $500. Student who has a parent or grandparent that graduated from Maryville University.
Art and Design Scholarship: $500-$5,000. for outstanding artistic talent. Separate application process and portfolio. Competition.
Missouri Baptist University:
National Merit finalist or semi-finalist: Up to full tuition, dorm, books and fees.
Trustee-full: Up to 100% of tuition (2). Valedictorian or salutatorian or rank in upper 3% of class or ACT score of 30 or SAT score of 1320.
Trustee-partial: Up t 60% of tuition (21). Rank upper 5% of class or ACT score of 28 or SAT score of 1240.
President's: Up to 40% tuition. Rank upper 10% of class or ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1210.
Dean's: Up to 30% tuition Rank upper 15% of class or ACT score of 24 or SAT score of 1100.
Faculty: Up to 20% of tuition. Rank upper 20% of class or ACT score of 21 or SAT score of 990.
Ministerial: Major-$3,000. Committee recommendation. Must file letter verifying public commitment to participate in a ministry of preaching, youth, religious education, music or missions. Must be majoring, minoring or seeking certificate in a church-related vocation.
Christian Service Awards: $1,500. Dependents of/or ministers, missionaries, church officials of the regular payroll, employees of Southern Baptist agencies, staff, faculty, or administrators of Christian high schools.
Denominational grant: $1,000. Active members of a Southern Baptist Church. A letter from the church is required yearly.
Christian High School graduates: $500. First-time freshmen who graduated from a Christian high school.
Church Matching: Up to $1,000 yearly. Church contributions toward a student's cost will be matched up to $500 per semester, not to exceed $1,000 per year.
Performance Scholarships: Varies. Based on selection and participation in athletics, cheerleading, music, band, or Spirit Wing. Detailed information available from the respective areas.
EXCEL Grant: $500. Minimum 6 hours of credit through the EXCEL program. Complete university admissions and both an institutional and a federal application for financial aid.
Alumni Dependent Scholarship: $1,500. Dependent children of MBU grads who have earned a bachelor's degree at MBU. Complete university admission and both an institutional and a federal application for financial aid.
Family Award: 10% tuition discount. Full-time undergrad students from same immediate family who are enrolled during the same semester. Complete university admission and both an institutional and federal application for financial aid.
Missouri State University
Presidential Scholarship (40): Value: required student fees and on campus room and board (approximate value: $13,000). Top 10% of class or 3.9 gpa and minimum 30 ACT or 1320 SAT. Apply for admission and submit the separate scholarship application by deadline. Competitive.
Board of Governors Scholarship: Value: basic fees for 32 credit hours per year (approximate value: $5,952). Top 10% of class or 3.90 gpa and a minimum 28 ACT or 1240 SAT. Apply for admission by March 1. No special application required.
Academic Scholarship: $2,250 per year. Top 20% of class or 3.7 gpa and a minimum 26 ACT or 1170 SAT. Apply for admission by March 1. No special application required.
Recognition Scholarship: $1,125 per year. Top 10% of class or 3.90 gpa and minimum 24 or 25 ACT or 1090 SAT. Apply for admission by March 1. No special application required.
Multicultural Leadership Scholarship (50). Value: in-state student fees. Upper one half of class rank with demonstrated leadership in multicultural school or community activities. Value: approximately $6,256. Apply for admission and submit the Scholarship application by Feb. 1. Competitive.
Hutchens/SGA Centennial Leaders Scholarship (24): $$1,250-$2,500. Highly competitive. Designed to recognize students who exhibit outstanding leadership potential. Rank in top one-half of class or a 3.0 gpa combined with a minimum 20 ACT or 950 SAT. Renewable. Online scholarship application, apply by December 1.
Missouri Boys State Leadership Award (5). $1,000 non renewable. For seniors who attended Boys State and who have a solid academic record and strong record of leadership.
Missouri Girls (5). $1,000. Same as Boys State requirements.

Missouri Southern State University
Honors Program: a 4-year renewable scholarship awarded in varying amounts for fall and spring semester. 28ACT or 3.5 gpa. Additional money awarded with a 31 ACT minimum and to National Merit Semifinalists and Finalists. Contact Scholarship office for more information.
Presidential Scholarship: $1,750 per academic year. Approximate value over four years-$7,000. High school graduates with an admission index of 160 or greater. Admission index is the sum of ACT percentile and class rank percentile. Contact Scholarship office for more information.
Excellence Scholarship: $1,300 per academic year. Approximate value over four years-$5,200. High school graduates with an admission index of 140-159. Contact Scholarship office for more information.
Diversity Scholarship: The variable scholarship will be specific dollar amount up to tuition and fees. Upper 50% or maintained a 2.5 gpa in high school and comes from a diverse background. Contact Scholarship office for more information.
Patron's Scholarship: $50-$2,500 per academic year. Open to any student attending Missouri Southern who shows scholastic ability or financial need. Contact Scholarship Office for more information.
