RECRUITMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE CELTIC DRAGONS NETBALL SUPERLEAGUE HOME FIXTURES.

The following voluntary opportunities are available for the Celtic Dragons Netball Superleague home fixtures. Applicants will be considered for individual matches or for the season of nine home fixtures which take place betweenSaturday 14th Januaryand Saturday 3rd June2016.Details of the fixtures can be found on the Celtic Dragons website.

Volunteering is a rewarding experience and can help individuals develop skills for use at college, university or in the workplace and nothing beats the ‘feel-good factor’ of helping and giving something to your sport.

Sound ControllerJob Ref: 001

The Sound Controller will be responsible for the music being relayed through the venue’s sound system before, during and after the match. They will liaise closely with the PA Announcer ensuring the smooth transition from music to announcements. The skills required for this role include:

  • competence and confidence using IT equipment
  • the ability to play and mix records to create an upbeat atmosphere during matches

PA AnnouncerJob Ref: 002

The PA Announcer will be responsible for making all public announcements before, during and after the match. They will be responsible for introducing the players onto the court and announcing the details of any player substitutions. The skills required for this role include:

  • a strong vocal talent,
  • a definitive personality
  • comfortable making announcements
  • comfortable pronouncing the names of players
  • ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate
  • fluent in welsh would be an advantage

Event StewardsJob Ref: 003

The team of Event Stewards will be responsible for the Customer Care of spectators. They will be responsible for checking tickets, seating spectators, selling programmes and generally taking care of spectators.

Merchandise SalesJob Ref: 004

Merchandise Sales volunteers will be responsible for the selling of Welsh Netball and Celtic Dragons merchandise and confectionary. They may also be required to assist with the sales and checking of tickets.

MascotJob Ref: 007

The Mascot volunteer will be required to wear the Dewi mascot outfit before, during and after the matches. You will need to be energetic and outgoing and use your own initiative to make the character come alive in a safe and sensible way.

Team HostessJob Ref: 008

The team hostess will be available to meet and greet the visiting teams. They will be the point of contact for any requests the teams have and liaise on their behalf with Welsh Netball. For this position you will need to be friendly and welcoming and have excellent customer care skills.

Ball Girl/Boy Co-ordinatorJob Ref: 009

The Ball Girl/Boy Co-ordinator will oversee the smooth running of the team of ball collectors. They will instruct and train the ball collectors to ensure the match ball is retrieved and made available for play as efficiently as possible.

Ball Girls/BoysJob Ref: 010

The team of Ball Girls/Boys will be responsible for retrieving the match ball and returning it to the court ensuring there is no delay in play during the matches. The team will be supervised and supported by the Ball Girl/Boy Co-ordinator.
