MISS REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES

(Updated 042017) The new Miss Republic of the Philippines (Miss RP) Pageant was launched in 2015 in response to a long overdue calling to establish a new national pageant search that goes beyond physical beauty and glamour. Miss RP prides itself to have created a niche where its advocacy goes beyond pageantry through education and career/scholarship opportunities it provides its winners. It promotes the image of the modern Filipina who is intelligent, self-assured and empowered lady to become a global ambassador of Philippine tourism and goodwill. As we have made our presence known locally, we also have been reaching out to Global Filipino communities to provide a common venue to unite and exchange opportunities of excellence and progress. The last search proved that many of our Filipinas are deserving but can have limited means to advance their education. We intend to bridge that gap. Successful entrepreneur and Philippines’ Best Dressed, Miss Lynette Padolina, (CEO and President of Miss RP), revived and rebranded the new Miss Republic of the Philippines.

Skills in effective communication, both oral and written correspondence, and esteem building are also emphasized. Further, as the winners are given the opportunity to identify and work on their advocacy, the value of community service and networking are given importance. The impetus for candidates from international communities involves returning to the Philippines to revisit and reigntie their Filipino heritage, which they may not have thechance to appreciate and therebyfurther valuing the amalgamation of these values and that of their new international home.

The revived search consisted of thirty six (36) local representatives from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and internationally. The crown was personally relinquished by Miss Joy Conde, the last reigning Miss RP 1976 during the coronation ceremonies held in Solaire Resort & Casino, Entertainment City in November 2015 which was subsequetly telecast at PTV 4. Chosen winners were Miss RP Fermira Dianne Ramos from Zambales and Miss RP International Beatrice Valente from Italy. Ms. Ramos is a Business Management graduate and received a four-year scholarship grant, ongoing management contract with the organizers, cash prize and gifts as services from sponsors,. Ms. Valente finished Graphic Arts at Accademia di Breta in Milan, Italy and had also received cash prize and gifts as services from the sponsors. Other winners include Ms. Joselle Mariano of Cavite as Miss RP-Luzon, Ms. Sheila Marie Reyes of Valenzuela City as Miss RP-Visayas and Ms. Kristie Rose Cequena of Laguna as Miss RP-Mindanao. Miss RP is covered by the pageant media and social blogs (Mr. Norman Tinio and others, Missosology, Showbiz Sosyal, Sash Factor, etc) and print media (Philippine Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin, Philippine Star, Women’s Journal, etc). We have media partners in PTV 4, Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation 13, Radio Ng Bayan, and Eagle Broadcasting Corporation. Armed Forces of the Phlippines (AFP) is a major partner.
