Laser Radar MV330/350
Laser Radar is the only solution available that provides automated, non-contact measurement capability for large-volume applications of up to 50 meter radius. The new generation of metrology instruments precisely measures large-scale geometry without requiring photogrammetry targets, laser tracker spherically mounted retro flectors, retro-reflectors or probes.
Benefits:
- Automated, targetless inspection
Easy to use, less operators needed - Doubled measurement speed
More data in same time - Higher signal to noise ratio
Higher data quality - Enhanced feature and target inspection
Wider application range
Applications: Antennae, Large Volume Metrology, Aircraft Component Inspection, Solar panels, Wind turbines , Telescope optics.
Features:
Patented frequency-modulated coherent laser radar technology
As the invisible eye-safe laser light travels to and from the target, it also travels through a reference path of calibrated optical fiber in an environmentally controlled module. Heterodyne detection of the return optical signal mixed coherently with the reference signal produces the most sensitive radar possible.
Measurement range for MV350 up to 50m, MV330 up to 30m
Two distinct Laser Radar systems are available: one performs range measurement up to 50m, the other up to 30m. Both systems use the same patented technology.
Accuracy from 24µm (2m distance) to 201µm (20m distance)
The accuracy is dependent on the measurement range. The accuracy figures are impressive, considering non-contact inspection in a large measuring volume.
High signal-noise-ratio yields repeatable composite inspection
The system’s enhanced digital signal processing and increased signal noise ratio guarantee highly reliable measurement data. As a result, Laser Radar is able to perform repeatable range measurements on composites, the material of choice for future aerospace developments.
Fast targetless and non-contact measurement
Faser Radar’s propriety laser reflection technology obsoletes tedious positioning of targets at difficult-to-access locations. Furthermore, the system offers inspection speed up to 2000 points per second in Ultra-fast Vision Scan capture mode. Laser Radar plays in a different league than laser tracker and photogrammetry
Flexibility in measuring surfaces and finishes
Recapturing one billionth portion of the reflected laser beam suffices for the Laser Radar to perform a measurement. This explains Laser Radar’s ability to scan dark diffuse and highly reflective material and finish surfaces at challenging incident angles.
Covering the complete surface of supersize objects
The Laser expands its line of sight by using dedicated mirrors and taking measurements from multiple Laser Radar positions. All measurement data are automatically referenced to a single contiguous coordinate system, saving time and avoiding human error.
Powerful hole and edge measurement capabilities
The inspection of (riveting) hole positions becomes much faster and a lot easier than traditional methods where measuring tools are glued in every hole. Regarding edges and borders, Laser Radar allows critical sharp edges to be measured with superior accuracy.
Large volume metrology software of choice
The customer can choose from a host of large scale metrology software solutions or use software libraries to specify his own measurement process. Spatial Analyzer, Verisurf and Metrolog software are the most popular to use in conjunction with Laser Radar.
Fit for any large volume inspection job
In a growing number of industry sectors, Laser Radar is used to perform inspection on giant aircraft parts, composites, wind turbines, concentrated solar panels, antennae, telescopes, ship hulls and propellers, heated surfaces and more.
