Video Intro: Play the Supernatural theme video clip

Title Slide: Welcome to week 4 of our Supernatural Series!

Rewind: Let’s rewind and review the last sessions.

God loves me perfectly!

When we encounter Jesus we are pulled into a new realm and we receive a new identify.

Remember the ordinary looking family in the movie The Incredibles…

Actually each of them has a unique super ability.

We may look ordinary, but we have been transformed and we have a new identify:

1. From Dark to Light: God called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)

2. From Death to Life: When you were dead in your sins God made you alive with Christ. (Colossians 2:13)

3. From Slave to Son: You are no longer slaves but God's children and God has made you heirs. (Galatians 4:7)

4. From Sinner to Saint: And we are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

5. From Human to Superhuman: I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:19)

6. From Earthly to Heavenly: We are aliens and strangers in the world, citizens of heaven. (Philippians 3:20, 1 Peter 2:11)

7. From Natural to Supernatural:If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

The “I Am Supernatural Because I Am…” Declaration

This is week 4 of the series and today we are looking at how we need to start thinking supernaturally.

Today we are going to look at a life changing passage of Scripture - Romans 12:2 - Let’s read it together…

Because of God’s mercy - Offer your body - As a living sacrifice - Do not conform to the world - But be transformed - By renewing your mind (Repeat)

Video: Matrix 1 – Watch Neo struggling to learn to think properly.

Why is thinking so important? Because our thoughts shape us!

Watch your thoughts, they become your beliefs.

Watch your beliefs, they become your words.

Watch your words, they become your actions.

Watch your actions, they become your habits.

Watch your habits, they become your character.

Why is thinking so important? Thoughts become beliefs become words become become actions become habits become character.

There are 2 kinds of thinking: Natutal and Supernatural Thinking!

What is Natural Thinking?

1. Natural Thinking is Negative Thinking

2. Natural Thinking is Small Thinking

3. Natural Thinking is Doubtful Thinking

4. Natural Thinking is Selfish Thinking

Is this your weekly existence? You wake up Monday dredding the day at school, you claw my way through four and a half days – desperately wishing that Friday would hurry up. You live it up on the weekend and then get depressed again as Sunday turns into Monday. And the cycle starts all over again.

What if there was another way to live?

Supernaturally! Others have done it!

Moses parted the red sea

Gideon beat an army with 300 men

David killed a giant who insulted God

Elijah called down fire from heaven

Peter walked on water

Living supernaturally is a better way to live.

And that takes Supernatural thinking!

What is Supernatural Thinking?

1. Supernatural Thinking is Positive Thinking: Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable. excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:7-9)

2. Supernatural Thinking is Big Thinking: God is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)

3. Supernatural Thinking is Possibile Thinking: With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

4. Supernatural Thinking is Selfless Thinking: None of you should look out just for your own good. You should also look out for the good of others. (Phil 2:4)

We are encouraging you to move from Natural to Supernatural Thinking!

1. From Negative to Positive Thinking

2. From Small to Big Thinking

3. From Doubtful to Possibile Thinking

4. From Selfish to Selfless Thinking

Video: Neo from the Matrix learning how to think!

The Declaration: Because God is Supernatural I think I can… Ask teens to think of a situation they are facing and to think supernaturally about it – think big, think

Challenge: During the coming week, work to reduce natural thinking and increase spiritual thinking.
