Minutes Tully Agriculture Committee Meeting - 1/12/10
The next agriculture committee meeting will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010 @ 7:00 pm in the conference room

Officer Reports:
Co-Chairs: Jill/Colleen – Applefest Butterfried Potatoes (~$500 profit & Student Pumpkin Floral Arrangements)
Secretary: Janet – No report
Treasurer: Kim – Report distributed, balance currently $3,693.34
Student Rep.: Jessica Currie – 37 members, FFA has ~$800 in treasury
Haunted House was a success, Profit ~ $915
Instructor/Advisor: Derek – Fruit Sale record sales (360 cases)~$2000 profit,

- Mr. Hill State & National Teacher & FFA advisor Award Winner- Need URL
- future plans for a Veterinary Science course
Tractor Raffle Donation/What to do with the tractor now? – Discussions on-going with Tractor Collectors Associations – Possible Re-raffle being considered with suggested improvements.
FFA State Convention Proposal & Update – Preparing for January presentation (Note: Unfortunately, we did not get picked to host state convention. They decided to go with SUNY Cobleskill again. Governing board members commented that our presentation was very well done. We did a very good job of representing the Tully community. The suggestion was made for Tully to host the national FFA officer tour again. We will use this experience in preparing future proposals for convention hosting at Tully.
Reach out to Fabius and Lafayette community members to join our committee – explore growth opportunities – students attending classes, others can join FFA (e.g. Consider stating & promoting an area wide FFA Alumni Group).
Upcoming Events – Ice Harvest CDE presentations on February 20th
-District CDE’s (Feb 24th)
-Ag. Literacy Week (March 15-19) - We need volunteers to read
-Tully FFA Banquet (March 23 @ 6:00pm) – Plans reviewed
-MFE/ALD Leadership Conference (Syracuse) to presented our proposal to host state convention
-Sub-state CDE’s at Cornell on March 20
- Spring plans to again produce hanging baskets for the Village
-State Convention at SUNY Cobleskill on May 6-8
- Mark will explore the possibility for participation in Route 81 Rest Stop fundraiser
