MCR Discussion items:

MCR #26 – Certificates/Certifications

  • Updated information for review and comments was sent on 10/21
  • BOR Policy 2.23 approved by BOR in August
  • Next steps – to discuss implementation.
  • Dr. Turchen has not been available to discuss the remaining questions – deferred to next MOCC meeting
  • Previous notice from Dr. Turchen that implementation is effective Spring 2006.

MCR #27– Coding for Multiple Majors/Degrees, Simultaneous Degrees, Additional Degrees

  • Compromise proposal that has been accepted by ASCChas been distributed to MOCC
  • Final Discussion by MOCC – respond to Registrar’s questions - other
  • Forward changes on November 7 for November AAC meeting

MCR #28 – Enrollment Reporting

  • Sent toAAC 11/3 for discussion at their November 10 meeting – will be sent to MOCC on 11/3.

MCR #30 - Sharing Residual ACT Scores

  • Draft of final recommendation
  • Residual ACT Procedures review
  • ACT – State or National ACT scores to be recorded into student record? See attached response.

MCR #31 – SD Technical Institutes Program to Program Implementation Guidelines

  • TheMCR 31 procedural guidelines have been sent to AAC fordiscussion at their November 10 meeting – a copy was forwarded to MOCC members on 11/02.
  • Upon approval by AAC of the proposed Program to Program Procedural Guidelines coding will need to occur for students enrolled Fall 2005
  • Carla has provided me with a list of all students who transferred to Regental universities from LATI, WDTI, and MTI for Fall 2005. Ranny will work with the Registrars to identify and code students in approved program to program agreements for Fall 2005.
  • Carla and Joann will continue testing.
  • The December BOR will require the number of students enrolled in program to program agreements for Fall 2005.

Ranny will draft proposal for recommending coordination procedures after MCR 26 is

  • Is a student who applies to SD who has only attended a non-accredited post secondary institution after high school graduation coded as a first-time freshman or a transfer?

System Academic Dates and System Processing Calendar - Ranny will maintain

Jan 25 / RIS File Maintenance 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. - Will need to be run a day earlier because of census date on Thursday, 1/26 OR SHOULD IT BE DONE A DAY LATER?? / RIS

e) May Academic Calendar – no response received from Dr. Turchen.

1)SAP, Inactivating Student Programs, and XISP(one attachment)

  • There will be two separate runs to inactivate programs/
  • Inactivating programs for students not at your university but in the system – prior to freezing census extract
  • Inactivating programs for students not enrolled anywhere in the system – after the census extract (Using XISP).
  • This should not affect SAP
  • Above information was finalized - Please distribute the information to your module groups and appropriate university personnel.
  • Inactivating Program procedures – see attachment

2)Course sections (zero credit trackingcourse sections)to be graded with the new "NG" grade - will be discussed at the October 18-19 AAC meeting(Using an instructional method of "Q" fortracking courses will be discussed). After the AAC decision is reached the rule for the "NG" grade will be revisited prior to Fall 2005 grading.– no response received from Dr. Turchen

3)CATH restriction - Enhancement has not been completed yet to do this automatically. Universities may use the CATH manual restriction.

4)Procedures for Restriction Comments (finalize)

  • See the change in procedures that sent from Carla along with a question about the Gen Ed restriction being done centrally.
  • From ASCC meeting: The university identifier is not required. You should enter the identifier if adding a comment to an existing restriction you did not add originally. Otherwise adding the identifier is optional.

5)Residency Policy and Residency form - do not agree - Information sent to Monte Kramer for resolution and response. See below.

  • Response from Monte – “Students may appeal within thirty (30) days after registration for that semester”. The reference to ten (10) days in the “Request for Residency Form” must be changed. The referral to “after registration for that semester” is defined as the Official Registration Day of the term for standard semester courses and the first day of class for non-standard courses.
  • The Request for Residency Form will require change – Rose will work with the Admissions Module to make the change. She will inform Monte Kramer and Mike Merrill when this has been completed.

6) e-Commerce Transcript question

  • Meetings have been held with the Registrars and RIS personnel to create a list of questions that will need resolution.

7)SAT to ACT Conversion procedure inquiry. Mike Merrill to draft procedure with Rose Hansen and Ranny Jones.
