Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday 8th May 2014, at Bardney Methodist Hall.

1.  / Minutes of the last meeting:
·  In the absence of the Chairperson, June Benton took the Chair and Dave Miles the secretary role.
·  The Minutes of the last meeting were accepted and signed as a true record.
2.  / Matters Arising:
·  The story of the Angus fairground family is to be written up after the Woodhall show and request publication in the Parish magazine.
·  The Ancestry Library subscriptions were far too expensive for us to consider.

·  Current balance in bank: £1,706-91 (£4 new contributions tonight)
4.  / Correspondence/Emails:
·  17-04-2014: Geoff Slack Family History relating to Quincey family.
·  08-05-2014: Telephone call and email from Robin Darby (Bardney Parish Council). Was BHG interested in a joint HLF project to restore all the Parish War Memorials? After some discussion it was felt that there was not a large enough quorum to consider this at this point, but those present were very weary of another HLF project, after 4 years of Bardney Abbey Revealed 2010-14.
·  Other correspondence regarding WWI soldiers is ongoing between D Miles and family members of those who served or fell.

·  Sale of BAR books at Woodhall Show. (It was agreed 50% Bardney Scout Group: 50% BHG)
8.  / Any Other Business:
·  Dave Miles said that he had paid £7-98p for some Velcro dots, for the display board and asked if he could recoup it from BHG funds. This was agreed.
·  Tony Green to be asked if he would talk on the village businesses on Station Road, with an open invitation to visitors, perhaps 23rd June 2014, and a WW1 evening later in the year, nearer Armistice Day.
·  Discussion took place on the potential for a book of Bardney Village History. It was agreed that this would be progressed at the next meeting.
