MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF CODNOR PARISH COUNCIL HELD AT PEVEREL HOUSE, CODNOR AT 7.30PM

No matters were raised.

POLICE MATTERS

a In response to a letter sent by Codnor Parish Council requesting the supply of policing hours in the Codnor area PCSO Liddy reported that from September WPC A Smith- Beard had worked 19 shifts and PCSO A Dare 41 shifts. A shift is 9 hours. Members requested that the police supply these details in writing.

b Members informed police of off street bikes being ridden around Jessop Street, West Hill, Holborn View and the recreation ground. Restricted parking spaces on Codnor Market Place were being abused. Vans and cars being parked on the while lines on both ends of Needham Street. PCSO Liddy said he would forward this report to the Road Safety Department.

c Councillor C Emmas-Williams thanked both WPC Smith-Beard and PCSO A Dare for their attendance and assistance at the bonfire and fireworks display event held in Codnor on Friday 2nd November 2007.

The Chairman informed members that a respresentative of the 3 Parish Mobile Youth Bus project would attend the next meeting with an update.

134/07 ALLOTMENTS

Member of the Allotments Association reported ongoing concerns regarding the ownership of access land to the allotments. Councillor C Emmas-Williams reported that Paul Benski, Solicitor, had confirmed that the access leading to the allotment land on Nottingham Road belonged to Codnor Parish Council.

RESOLVED that the clerk write to resident adjacent to access land confirming Codnor Parish Council’s ownership.

135/07 STREET SIGNS

Members considered and agreed the quote received from AVBC Landscape Dept., for installing the Historical Street Signs to existing sites in Codnor.

RESOLVED that Clerk write to AVBC Landscape Dept., requesting they undertake to do the installation work.

136/07 MEMBERS REPORTS

Councillor C Emmas-Williams informed members that 2400 people had visited the Codnor Bonfire/Fireworks event and a collection had raised £572 which included £100 from the fairground operator.

Members thanked Councillor Chris Emmas-Williams for his hard work in creating such a successful event.

137/07 CORRESPONDENCE

a DCC – Highways Department - Members discussed the repair work done to the

footpath opposite the newsagents on Mill Lane, Codnor. Whilst it was appreciated

that the work had been done speedily in response to members request the repair work

itself was considered to render the path hazardous.

RESOLVED that the clerk write to DCC, Highways Department thanking them for

their response and to raise awareness of members concerns.

b DCC – Community Response Plan questionnaire

RESOLVED that Councillor Mrs A Moon would complete and submit the questionnaire.

c Police Matters 2.10.07 – no response had been received from the police regarding

CCTV camera and Police Beat Office.

RESOLVED that the clerk write to the Police requesting anticipated response time for

correspondence.

138/07 FINANCE

RESOLVED:

c to note the External Audit had been approved and returned. The Auditors made

comment that Councillors should be covered by Fidelity Insurance. Clerk to arrange

Councillors fidelity insurance cover to be included on insurance policy.

139/07 DATE AND TIME OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting of Codnor Parish Council will take place on Monday 10th December 2007

7.30pm at Peverel House, Mill Lane, Codnor.
