MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL BOARD MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, MAY 24, 2017
The Piggott School District Board of Education met in a Special Meeting on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. in the District Administrative Office. Members present were Hope Burns, Brad Dunlap, Jennifer Rahn and Jim Threatt.
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 P.M. by the Board President, Hope Burns.
A motion was made by Brad Dunlap to waive the approval of the consent agenda until the next Regularly Scheduled Meeting. The motion passed 4 to 0.
Interim Superintendent, Barry DeHart, told the Board that the Concession Stand plans were approved by the State Department and ready to be bid.
Michael Harrell told the Board that the track failed the compression test and they will have to cut a bad spot out to continue. He said the slab for the new track building had been poured and was ready for the building to be put up Friday. The pole vault and shot put are scheduled to be installed on Friday. Michael Harrell was to get a quote on the fence.
Board President, Hope Burns waived the motion to enter executive session at 5:07 P.M.

Upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent, Barry DeHart, a motion was made by Jennifer Rahn to hire Stephen Harryman as High School History Teacher subject to Arkansas Certification and Board Polices and Salary Schedules for the 2017-2018 school year. The motion passed 4 to 0.
Upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent, Barry DeHart, a motion was made by Jim Threatt to hire Amanda Russom as High School Science Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. The motion passed 4 to 0.
Upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent, Barry DeHart, a motion was made by Brad Dunlap to rescind Brock Swann’s resignation and hire him as Elementary Principal for the 2017-2018 school year as per Board Policies and Salary Schedules. The motion passed 4 to 0.
Board President, Hope Burns adjourned the meeting at 7:16 P.M.
