- The Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 14th July 2015were accepted as a correct of the meeting
- Councillor Matthew Riddle, Leader of South Gloucestershire Council gave a presentation on the West of England Devolution Deal, including developments since the consultation period closed (attached)
Issues / discussion / questions Included:
- Geographical representation if decisions are made by Mayors
- Need for open debate
- Selective appointments on scrutiny panels
- 2 being able to veto decisions leading to lack of progress / stale mate
- Achievements
Downend & Bromley Heath Parish Council became the first Local Council to achieve the Foundation Award
The Certificate of Local Council Administration has been achieved by Claire Dolman, Clerk to Hanham Abbots Parish Council

Chairman – Cllr. BoB Symons proposed by Mike Drew and seconded by Cllr. Malcolm Watson
Vice Chairman – Cllr. Mike Drew was proposed by Pat Trull and seconded by Cllr. BoB Symons

These nominations were unopposed and agreed unanimously
- SGAG Representative on the South Gloucestershire Local Strategic Partnership -Cllr. BoB Symons was appointed
- Any Other Business
The opportunity for the SGAG to be represented at the NALC AGM in Birmingham
There will be no increase in the fees for the ALCA element of subscriptions. The current proposal is for 2% increase in the NALC element, to be confirmed at their AGM
That all councils should aspire to their Councillors receiving training every other year as a minimum was expressed by a Local Council.
