Matters arising

  1. The Christmas hamper raffle has so far raised £250. Ron Cross of Kidderminster and District Lions has asked us to contact him with the final total as the Lions would like to make a donation.
  2. Volunteers recruited for the bag pack on Fri 11th Dec are Ann and Roger Hughes, Beryl Talbot, Pauline and Bryan Hadwell, Maureen Howes. Phil and Sheila Lamb have very kindly sent a donation of £20 as they are unable to help.
  3. There is still no date for the wifi.
  4. Trish Wheal reported that the coffee morning on Fri 4th Dec had not been very well supported, only 2 patients called in. PPG members came and gave support. It was a lot of hard work for little return. £73.35 was raised.
  5. Dr Brodie spoke in detail about the proposed email appointment system. Patients would complete and submit an online form to their doctor for assessment and reply. This online service would be in addition to the current telephone service and patients could use whichever suits them best. Maureen thanked Dr Brodie for giving up his time.
  6. Beryl Talbot, Vice Chair, reported on the recent Wyre Forest PPG meeting. The speaker was Katie Cook who talked about diabetes and current treatment.
  7. We were pleased to hear that Kidderminster Health Centre and Forest Glades surgeries joined the Wyre Forest Health Partnership on 1st Dec increasing the total number of surgeries from 5 to 7.
  8. Cathy asked that the Christmas Day lunch at St Michael's be mentioned. This is a free event for those who will be alone on the day and do not want to be. The food will be donated by Tesco and lifts can be provided if necessary. Information leaflets were handed out to members for anyone they knew who might be in need.
  9. The book stall is up and running and doing well. More donations of books always welcome, please leave at the reception desk.

Any Other Business

Members report that the sound system is still not good enough. All members present were in favour of a visual name alert.

Members asked if the rolling screen on the reception TV could be slowed down. It moves too fast to be read properly.

Katie Bush, Site Manager, emailed to ask if would we consider funding some alternative seating for the waiting room. For some the current bench type seating is difficult to negotiate and some chairs with arms would be more appropriate.

Date of next meeting 9.3.16 1pm – 2pm
