Minutes of a meeting held on Tuesday 14th November 2017 in the Village Hall

Present: Mrs J. Giles-Bullock, Mr A. Clark, Mr D. Skelton, Mr M. Austin, Mr J. Daw and Mr A. Martin [Clerk]

Visiting: Mr P. Heal [Chairman, Mid-Devon District Council]

Apologies: Mr J. Tucker, Mr D. Cooper, Mrs M. Squires

[57] The Minutes of the meeting held on 10th October 2017 which had been circulated electronically were agreed by all present & signed by the Chairman.

[58] Highways. Devon Highways would only install flashing lights on A-roads. Estimated cost of buying lights was £1,900. Price for non-flashing lights to be investigated.

[59] Bus Shelter, Morchard Road: There was danger of an accident when children crossed the A377 to board the bus. It was hoped that Steve Tucker and a safety officer could visit the crossing.

[60] Village Hall. Events were planned for 26th November [Race Night] & 16th December [Christmas Carols on the Village Green]. Events for 2018 were being considered. The clock needed repair.

[61] Village Green. Needed one more cut before Christmas. Mr. Austin volunteered to do this.

[62] Defibrillators. Agreement had been made with BT to take over the phone kiosks to hold the defibrillators. Mr. Skelton to check the power supply. Bow Young Farmers had volunteered to raise money.

[63] Parish Website. Website was now up and running.

[65] A new accountant was still needed.

[66] Planning: Prior notification for the change of use of agricultural building to dwelling under Class Q - Land and Buildings at NGR 276109 103625 (Adjacent to Eppfield) No objection

[67] Mr. Heal addressed the meeting on the state of Mid-Devon. The Chairman thanked him for his visit.

[68] There was a suggestion that Union Hill should become access-only
