WINTER FAYRE
A discussion took place about the success of the Winter Fayre was. It was suggested that more interactive stalls could be introduced.
COMMUNITY GARDEN
Liz spoke about the community garden not being used at the moment due to not knowing who was responsible for maintaining it. A risk assessment was done and showed it wasn’t safe for the children to use. This has still to be resolved. It has also been noticed that the bins from the food shops in St Andrews Road are placed very close to the school fence at Lincluden path and they are overflowing into the community garden. Liz asked if the Parent Council could do something about it.
RAIN SHELTER
J Daly bringing in brochures for people to look at. It would seem a lot of fundraising would need to be done for the shelter. Liz suggested applying for a grant to help with the costs.
CRECHE
J Cussons asked about young children not being allowed into events like assemblies. Liz explained why it wasn’t possible.
OPENING CEREMONY
This will be held on Thursday 9th March. Liz explained about who was being invited and how the theme of the event would be Scotland in Glendale.
PUPIL EQUITY FUNDING
Liz explained that a sum of money would be available for schools to buy in another teacher to assist with the testing, which will start in August… There has been no advice given on how to prepare children for this.
GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP WEEK
Liz asked for funding from the Parent Council to help with the costs of the week, which will be held in May. All agreed.
CORDIA
P1 REGISTRATION
Liz spoke about how we are capped at 40 this year and we already have 35 catchment children at the moment.
BANK
The Parent Council have £1234.57 in the bank.
WORLD BOOK DAY
J Cussons spoke about a competition that schools could be involved in for the above.
ENERGY
J Cussons brought in a sample of a book about energy that she thought the school might be interested in buying. Liz going to have a look at it.
LUNCH HALL
Mandy Running from HQ has asked for dated of next couple of meetings so that someone can come out and give a talk about the Cashless dinner tickets.
