CALL TO ORDER: called to order at 7 p.m.
ATTENDEES: Darrell Wagner, Glenda Schienbein, Trevor Leslie, Joanne Hughes, Melinda Haggart, Deb Thiel, Chris Eskelson, Darrik Rieber, Craig Smith, Joe Petrie, Bart Cook, Joe Petrie, Tina Kulczycki, Mark Forbes, Drake Lockhart & Rachel Horbach.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM LAST BOARD MEETING:
1. Provincials – We have been awarded the Midget B Female tournament for the weekend of March 20-23/2014
2. Provincial play downs – teams have started their qualifying games
3. Peewee Alberta Camp – we have moved the Peewee tournament weekend so it does not conflict with this event in the future.
4. Registration fee – new structuring of fees is coming along with more information as it gets changed
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Evaluation committee: Brent Mohrbutter is working on getting committee to do more homework & then they will present to the board when a plan is in place. The intent of the group is to present a standardized process for player evaluation
2. Tournament restructuring: included in Rachel Horbach’s report, smaller tournaments will be the focus and changing dates. Tournament directors to be appointed and some duties taken from the office. Initiation & Novice contact will remain in the LMHA office. A suggestion was brought forth to send a letter to the Chamber of Commerce to inform them of the cuts we are making due to the ice shortage we are incurring and the restructuring that is having to be made due to that. Motion to follow.
3. Motion – to approve the tournament dates for the 2014-2015 season as follows:
November 21-23/2014 – Bantam B – 8 teams
November 28-30/2014 – Novice Male & Female – 18 teams
December 5-7/2014 – Atom Tier I & II – 12 teams
December 12-14/2014 – Peewee A – 8 teams
January 2-4/2015 – Midget A – 8 teams
January 9-11/2015 – Bantam & Peewee Female – 12 teams
January 16-18/2015 – Initiation – 18 teams
January 30-February 1/2015 – Atom Tier III & Atom Female – 12 teams

4. Budget – Darrell has started the budget for the 2014-2015 season and is looking for names to stand on the committee to help with that. Rachel Horbach, Melinda Haggart & Chris Eskelson will come on the committee as of this evening.
5. Motion: to remove Kevin Lindquist from the signing authority on all minor hockey bank accounts and have the signing authority changed to – Melinda Haggart & anyone of the following – Brent Mohrbutter, Trevor Leslie, Joanne Hughes & Brad Schoettler.

6. Sutter Cup – R’Ohan Rage will be hosting the Sutter Cup March 6-9/2014
7. Ice Cancellation – discussion around the fact that teams are not giving the 5 day allotted time for cancellation and the office will start to fine teams and/or no refund or rebooking of ice in those situations if the problem continues. Board is being informed so if they hear negative in the community regarding the issue.
8. Russ Robertson expansion – tabled with city with not date on the expansion. Boards for the outdoor rink are to be put into storage until the city has funds for the expansion.
9. Midget Division – concerns about commitment level of kids and what to do. Coaches have to set rules and standards might be an option.
10. Glenda has handed in her resignation and thanks all of you for your support in the last 3 years. My final day will be February 14/2014. I will be available for training in the evenings and will not leave minor hockey in a bad spot that way and will also provide contract book keeping after hours if the board wishes.
