ITEM NO. 2.
PRESENTATION BY MR. ALAN GALLAGHER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, CONNECTIRELAND, ON JOBS INITIATIVES.
Mr. Alan Gallagher, Business Development Manager, ConnectIreland, gave a Presentation to the Council on Jobs Initiatives.

The Cathaoirleach and CountyManager thanked Mr. Gallagher for his Presentation.
ITEM NO. 3.
PROPOSED NATIONAL OUTDOOR PURSUITSACADEMY, CASTLEBAR.
Mr. P. Hynes, County Manager, introduced this Item to the Members.
Mr. S. Granahan, Dir. of Services, gave a Presentation to the Council on the proposed National Outdoor Pursuits Academy, Castlebar.
Following the Presentation and discussion, various queries raised by the Members were replied to by Mr. Granahan, Dir. of Services and Mr. P. Duggan, Head of Finance.
ITEM NO. 4.
TO ADOPT THE 2011 ANNUAL REPORT OF THE COUNCIL.
Mr. J. Loftus, Dir. of Services, introduced this Item to the Members.

“That we hereby adopt the 2011 Annual Report of the Council, as circulated”.
It was agreed that the 2011 Annual Report of the Council would be made
available to all Schools in the County.
ITEM NO. 5.
TO CONSIDER REPORT DATED 8th MAY, 2012, IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 8 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) REGULATIONS, 2001, AND THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 2001, IN RESPECT OF PROPOSED MAYO ABBEY SEWERAGE SCHEME.

TO ACCEPT TERMS OF LETTER DATED 18th MAY, 2012, RECEIVED FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND THE MARINE (DAFM) IN RESPECT OF PIER PROJECTS AT KILCUMMIN, PURTEEN AND BALLINA HARBOUR AND TO APPROVE A CONTRIBUTION OF €112,250 TO THESE PROJECTS.

“That we hereby accept terms of Letter dated 18th May, 2012, received from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) in respect of Pier Projects at Kilcummin, Purteen and Ballina Harbour, and that a contribution from Mayo County Council of €112,500 for these Projects be hereby agreed”.

The A/Meetings Administrator gave details of an Invitation which had been received from Shell E&P Ireland Limited inviting the Cathaoirleach and Members to visit the Gas Terminal at Bellanaboy for an updated visit.

“Calling on the Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairi Quinn, T.D., and
the Minister of State in this Department, Deputy Ciaran Cannon, to reverse
the changes to the School Transport Scheme for Post Primary children as
announced in the National Budget of 2011”.
(b)“That the Members of Mayo County Council express their regret at the
decision of the Government to remove the water and sewerage functions
from Mayo County Council and calls on our Government T.D.’s to lead a
campaign to reverse this decision and that this Motion, if adopted, be
circulated to all other Local Authorities”.
It was agreed to defer this Notice of Motion to the July Meeting of the
Council.
