Flag Up Saturday

A staff member will meet you and your troop/group at the flagpole by 7:30 a.m. to practice. You do not need to practice or assign jobs ahead of time.
Caller: “Horse shoe attention.” (The audience is quiet.)
“Color guard attention...Color guard advance.” (The guard moves towards the flagpole.)
“Color guard present your colors.”
(The guard raises the flag.)
(You may sing a song, lead us in a song, read a poem, or share your troop/group’s thoughts at this time.)
“Color guard honor your colors.” (The guard solutes the flag by placing their hands on their hearts for the count of three, then stand at attention and silent for the remainder of the ceremony.)
“Please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance”
“Please join me in the Girl Scout Promise”
“Color guard dismissed.” (The guard walks until they have passed the horseshoe.)
“Horse shoe dismissed.” We all go to the meal.
