MINUTES OF THE LEEMING BAR RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION FIRST ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AT THE WHITE ROSE HOTEL LEEMING BAR – 07 JANUARY 2013

  1. Minutes – Richard asked that all read and confirm that the previous minutes were a true and accurate record of the previous meeting:

  1. LBRA Constitution – Richard stated that no amendments had been received to date regarding the constitution; he read through the document and asked for Association agreement.

  1. Report From The Chair/Matters Arising:
  1. Funding – Richard stated he had applied for funding from Broadacres and the Bedale and Villages Forum. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful due to budgetary pressures but were encouraged to reapply in the next financial year.
  1. Website – Mark gave a very good demonstration on the newly established LBRA website and possible inclusions. The following points or ideas were raised for future discussion/development:
Sponsorship/Advertising – Local Businesses
Shared Costs – Association
Elderly residents – unlikely to use therefore options for them
History of Leeming Bar – link
Disclaimer – possible conflicts
Ideas from other like organisations – such as Newton-le-Willows
  1. Possible ideas for the community:
Village Fete
Use of the local school
Xmas hamper
Transportation for vulnerable (people watch)
Mail drop – possible use of persons delivering papers
Ask the community – what do we need
Liaison with Wensleydale Railways
Womens Institute – Leeming Village next gathering 18 Feb village
Hall – guest speaker James Ward
  1. Neighbourhood Watch – Rab has confirmed approval from North Yorks Police to the scheme. Signs can now be obtained subject to agreement from the highways agency. It is planned to place on the access routes into Leeming Bar only. If anyone needs forms for registration or general information contact Richard or Rab.
  1. Cold Calling Zones – Rab stated he was awaiting feedback from John Preston as any forward movement on this issue. In the meantime members should if fill in the forms given out some months ago. Again forms can be obtained through Richard or Rab if required.
  1. Parish Council/LBRA – Richard briefed members that some positive communication had been made with a member of the Parish Council and hoped it would lead to a meeting to agree a way forward. Richard stated he would again attempt to contact the Chair of the Parish Council to set up a meeting.
  1. Next Meeting – The next LBRA meeting will take place in the White Rose Hotel Mon 11 Feb 12 at 1900hrs. Other key dates:
