Minutes of FDVL Open Meeting

  1. Introductions etc

Following the tragic death of Geoff Errington the Website would not be updated as frequently until a Webmaster could be found. J Jarman offered temporary assistance to identify what was required.

  1. Minutes of Previous Meetings & Matters Arising

Ticketing & TVM’s etc

  • Passengers unable to obtain prepaid tickets from TVM’s not working, should board the train (with their Booking reference) and follow the advice of the train manager. S Lloyd was still trying to get a definitive statement Action: EMT(SL)
  • Carnets - Still on EMT agenda for review at next ticketing update. Action: EMT(SL)
  1. Feedback from CRP Meeting
Stations
  • 1 General – The CRP & EMT had produced a schedule of minor improvements and maintenance issues for each station. These were to be prioritised for attention.
  • 2 Transition Belper would soon be working to improve the embankments behind the platforms as part of Belper in Bloom project, following arrangements with Network Rail.
  • 3 Belper - The lighting along the passage from King St to the station should now be working during hours of darkness.
  • 4 Matlock 6 new planters had been installed which complemented the stonework repairs and the opening of the Tourist Information Centre
Car Parking
  • EMT were asked to put up details of how to buy tickets for 2 days when a vehicle was to be left overnight
Passenger Information
  • There were still reports of inadequate/incorrect announcements at stations during disruption, together with inadequate details of where replacement buses would stop. EMT were going to visit each station to identify shortcomings. Action: EMT(SL)
September Timetable Changes

Ballast cleaning on the mainline section between 15 Sept and 21 October would mean that on

Tuesday to Friday mornings

  • 05:40 DBY-MAT would run later arriving Ambergate at 06:22 with a bus link to Matlock
  • 06:22 MAT –DBY would run from Ambergate as normal (not Matlock) with a bus link from Matlock

Monday to Thursday evenings

  • 22:16 DBY-MAT would be a replacement Bus
  • 22:55 MAT-DBY would be a replacement Bus (departing at 2225)

Weekends would be unaffected as EMT had highlighted to Network Rail that late trains from the Matlock Bath Illuminations could not be impacted upon

  1. Belper Mainline Stops Project & Survey
  • Emma Knight, in response to FDVL’s approach,had questioned why we wanted to carry out surveys at Alfreton. . Action: EM to follow up.

Ticketing & Decentralisation

The CRP was drafting responses to these two consultations which were due in by 28 June. Members were directed to the DfT website , from where individual responses could also be sent.

Dates of Meetings Planned for Autumn/Winter 2012 were still to be confirmed.
