Derek asked if he could say some words regarding the 30th Anniversary of the Club;

He was very proud that the club was now 30years old and it said it had brought him a great deal of pleasure over the years especially the recent Exhibition. He went on to thank everyone who helped organise the events. He summed up by saying a big thank you to all for the 30 years of Chapel Camera Club.

Keith thanked Malcolm for his service on the committee and for allowing the committee to meet at his house. He also thanked Jennifer for her hospitality and provision of tea, coffee and biscuits.

The formal part of the AGM was closed at 8.40pm and the AOB was carried on as informal.

9. AOB

Derek raised the issue of print sizes stating that he had been unable to see several prints in any detail as he thought them to be too small. There was some discussion regarding the matter but there did not appear to be a great deal of support for any increase in the minimum size to 10in x 12in as it would restrict members’ choices for artistic presentation.

It was agreed, however, that the matter would be discussed at committee.

KG said that the Club in the past had tried digital presentation alongside the prints but it had not proved too successful for a number of reasons and had become an onerous task to deliver.

Nick Chalkley suggested using a digital camera tethered to the laptop – to show a live view of the prints. This is done at some other clubs, including the L&CPU annual competitions and is quite successful.

It was agreed that the matter would be discussed at committee.

Nick Chalkley also asked if there could be a competition judged by the members on the night rather than judges. It is unlikely that this could be fitted into next season.

It was agreed that the matter would be discussed at committee.

Tony Pioli requested that a selection committee be set up again as he had been selecting images mainly on his own for a few seasons now and it was hard work. He did not wish to continue with it alone. He was very happy with the club’s recent win over Wigan 10 (which also including Chapel having the highest scoring image) and felt he would like to go out on a high.

KG explained that Mike Fleet had dropped out of his role of Inter-Club Sec for family/work reasons. He also thanked TP for all his hard work.

It was agreed that it was a good idea that the selection committee be resurrected and that the committee would look into it in time for the new season.

KG thanked the members for attending and reminded then that there were details regarding the summer events programme being circulated and he hoped many members would attend

The informal section of the Meeting closed at about 9.00pm
