Miscellaneous

  • Bingo
  • Since Bingo isn’t as common in the northland at the moment, it’s been brought up that we might start it up again.
  • Excellent opportunity to get involved with the community, the Columbiettes, and give back to the church. Additionally, it would help us make the revenue required to renovate our hall to attract future income (wedding receptions, etc.).
  • Nothing is official yet – we’re currently working with Tri-County to see what our options would be to take this on, and what would be required.
  • New website
  • Costs $12.50 per month, and would feature a re-direct from the old address so no one gets lost while looking for our Council’s page.
  • Motion to officially use the new site was moved by Bill, seconded by Zach, and passed unanimously.
  • Raytown and Our Lady of Lourdes are selling flowers for Memorial Day.
  • Motion to donate $50 to the Missouri Religious Vocations Fund in honor of outgoing State Chaplain Fr. Paul was moved by Zach, seconded by Chuck, and passed unanimously.
  • Fr. Justin is talking with the Church Committee at St. Patrick’s about having wedding vow renewals following the homily at all weekend masses the weekend of Father’s Day. More details to follow.
  • We’re well on our way to earning STAR council this year. Just waiting to hear what they make of our paperwork once we submit.
  • The Columbiettes have gained the minimum number of members needed to form a chapter. Supreme will come and host a 1st and 2nd Degree for the ladies, and teach them how to do their own Degree ceremonies moving forward. Their charter will be in effect at that time.
  • This Thursday (5/19) will be Taco Tuesday for the Veteran’s Center. Prep will be at the Hall the night prior around 6pm.
