Committee reports:
EAP: nothing to report
EO: nothing to report
Pam Lyons is the EO committee management chair
Grievance:
- Three resolved. New complaints have been received.
- Members with concerns should contact the chief shop steward.
- Grievances are confidential on a need to know basis; only the president and chief shop steward and stewards know the details of your complaint or grievance.
- Ed will call a meeting for stewards
Staffing:
- Issues continue
- Full time job to keep up;
- We have to keep watching; and keep our eyes open.
- It is very important when applying for boards go for your individual feedback. Read the poster carefully and question management. Mistakes have been made in the past.
- ITPR can be used if you have gone for all steps of the feedback when placement is being made as a result of a process.
- We will continue to work with Management to keep staffing fair & transparent.
Membership:
- Foto working on getting all members and their information in BFTSO on our list updated.
- If you move, let Foto know your new address and home phone number and change your address online with both PSAC and UTE.
- If you are leaving or have just arrived at the BFTSO please let Foto know so she can have you transferred to the correct local.
OHS:
BFTSO:
- Cleaning staff employee had banged into an employed and she was injured. She is currently off.
STC:
- Nothing to report
Compassion:
- One card to be sent
- If you know someone who is sick or lost a loved one let any of the executive member know so we can send a card.
Old Business:
- Retiree recognition
- AGM
o January 26th is the date.
o All of the executive needs to help with the planning and coordination.
o Annual reports have to be sent to Terry by mid December
o Elections; there will be several due to executive replacement.
- Meet and greet scheduled for mid-October. The details need to be finalized.
- We will have another plant gate to hand out bargaining information.
