FORMER DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WELFARE OFFICIAL
JOINS SELLERS DORSEY
PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 10, 2008 – Sellers Dorsey announced today that Nancy L. Hardy, former Deputy Secretary of Pennsylvania’s Office of Children Youth and Families, has joined the firm as Senior Vice President. Between 2005 and 2007, Ms. Hardy directed Pennsylvania’s child welfare and juvenile justice programs for the state administered, county operated system of care.
During her twenty year tenure with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, she also served as a senior government official with the Department of Public Welfare in the Medicaid agency responsible for Medicaid planning and system implementation, as well as the development of Pennsylvania’s Medicaid Managed Care programs.
Prior to joining Sellers Dorsey, Ms. Hardy represented the “Alliance of Pennsylvania Councils” and their network of clinics that provide maternal and reproductive health services. She consulted with these organizations in the development and implementation of a PA Family Planning Waiver, approved by CMS.
“Given my experience working with state and federal government officials to design solutions that positively impacted the healthcare of our most vulnerable citizens, I felt ready to join an organization that was at the forefront of improving the healthcare issues facing our country today,” states Hardy.
In addition to her work with the public sector, Ms. Hardy also served as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs with Keystone Mercy Health Plan and AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan where she insured that these Medicaid managed care organizations received adequate rates to provide Medicaid services to their members.
“The work of Sellers Dorsey is about making a difference in the lives of people who are living in disadvantaged situations, without access to quality and affordable healthcare,” said Ms. Hardy, “I’m excited that I will now be able to use my public and private sector experience to help other states and privates businesses with their healthcare challenges.”
Marty Sellers, CEO of Sellers Dorsey agrees. “We see daily the work of Governors and others in healthcare as they become increasingly willing to creatively explore healthcare reform that provides real, tangible results. Individuals like Nancy Hardy exemplify the exceptional talent needed to design original solutions that successfully combine public policy mandates with private sector objectives.”
