Councillor L. Langley called the meeting to order at 1:33 p.m.

Councillor L. Langley explained the Non-Statutory Public Hearing process.

That the Committee recess and reconvene at 3:30 p.m.

A copy of revised Animal Licensing and Control Bylaw 13145 was distributed to Members of the Committee and a copy filed with the Office of the City Clerk.

That the revised Animal Licensing and Control Bylaw 13145 be added to the agenda.

MOVED M. Phair:

  1. That the Community Services Committee recommend to City Council:
  1. That revised Bylaw 13145, which contains the addition of new sections 2(o)(vi), 13(4), 28 and 30, be given the appropriate readings.
  2. That Administration be directed to make traps for cats available only between April 1 and October 31 of each year.

  1. That Administration bring forward to City Council amendments to Bylaw 13145 to allow the current number of cats (6) and dogs (3) per household to be maintained.
  2. That Administration present to City Council with the Bylaw an outline of an education/communication program to be undertaken by the City with partners regarding animal control and care.
