  • Competitive Fees are due April 1st. A reminder email will be sent out regarding the $200 volunteer check that is required.

Special Projects

  • Structured to have sub-committees within the committee. Some projects include land options and capital campaign. Tara Roedocker, Mark Schmidt, Janet Green, Nate H and Jon V are part of this committee. There has been some other members outside the board that are interested in joining.

Grounds and Equipment Management

  • Jon V distributed an equipment inventory spreadsheet and an informational sheet about some of the roles and expectations of this committee. Creighton Bachmeier was added to this committee. Upcoming needs are field layouts for spring rec and a locking tool chest. More paint may have to be purchased.

**MSA has the option to rent the NDSF Commercial Building #4 (currently the Gymagic Gymnastics building)**

The board came to the conclusion that there are many reasons that this building is a great opportunity for our club. Denise M made the motion to accept the NDSF contract for renting the commercial building #3 that will be available to MSA on August 5, 2017. Andrea M seconded the motion. All board members in favor.

Communications

  • Denise is looking for members to add to this committee. She will post an application. A news article was recently submitted by Denise. Members are to notify Denise when they have a need to get a message out. WGO is willing to advertise free of charge. Communications to Steve (Competitive Coordinator) should go through email.

Fundraising / Tournaments

  • HostFest Raffle—the contract has been signed. The raffle will be the same structure as last year. Each family will be given tickets to sell with incentives for the most sold. A booth is reserved at the state fair. Players are required to sell 10 raffle tickets at $10 per ticket, with a maximum of 20 required tickets per family.
  • BurliMot Run Fundraiser- MSA will be organizing a 5k and Half Marathon to be held on August 4 and August 5, respectively. A spaghetti feed will be on August 4 to follow the 5K. We need someone to aid in advertising. Some options include Visit Minot, Facebook, and Minot Soccer Website.
  • Gala- may be held in November. Sara Dufner will be heading this up. It will include a silent auction and dinner. She will update the MSA board as planning progresses. The board needs to let her know what the Gala will be earmarked for so she can advertise.

Coach / Referee

  • Zoe F presented. One of the needs is a referee coordinator/mentor to help keep referees up to date and interested in keeping up their licenses. They would like to see more rec coaches with F” licenses. Zoe is putting a together a session for the rec coaches to briefly show them drills. There has been a complaint that junior coaches are running practices without the head coach. An email will be sent to the coaches and team managers with the recommendation from the board that a license coach should be present. The board feels each coach should be First Aid certified and will help find a class for them to attend.

Adult League

  • Jon V distributed a handout of some expectations and roles of the adult league. An adult tournament will be held on April 22-23.

DOC / Competitive Coordinator / Recreation Coordinator

  • The deadline for Spring Recreation registration is Friday. It may be extended due to Sports Engine problems.
  • Concessions will need to open soon for High School and Spring Rec.
