CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm 33)

Minister: Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous.

ALL: It is fitting for the upright to praise him.

Minister: For the word of the LORD is right and true;

he is faithful in all he does.

ALL: The LORD loves righteousness and justice;

the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Minister:Let all the earth fear the LORD;

Let all the people of the world revere him.

ALL:We wait in hope for the LORD;

he is our help and our shield.

Scripture Song: Philippians 4

Whatever things are lovely,

whatever things are right,

all that is pure and noble:

make these things your delight.

Whatever is praiseworthy

and beautiful and true,

all excellence and virtue

shall form Christ's mind in you.

In all things, make thanksgiving;

for all things, join in prayer:

the peace of God will guard you

rejoice the Lord is near!

Let nothing make you anxious;

what you have learned, obey:

the God of peace be with you

and Christ be all your way.

God calls us to delight in Christ and to share His Hope.

Sunday 11th July 2010

“The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.”John 3:35

Led by God, we join together in joyful and reverent worship, seeking unity and maturity in Christ, preparing every believer to share and show God’s Hope as revealed in His Word.

Welcome! We meet together for worship today in Dingwall at 11.00 am and6 pm. Our minister, Rev Angus MacRae, will lead both services, teaching from Luke 24 and in the evening from the Book of Jude. There will be informal songs from 5.45 pm tonight as we gather for the evening service.

Sunday School is on holiday but a crèche is available each Sunday morning – held in the church hall. Children leave for the crèche after the second singing.

The Record magazine and From the Frontiersannual missionary magazine are available. Envelopes for the Bus Fund and OMF Fund are also available today. There is an offering today for our OMF Partners (the Raes serving the urban poor of the Philippines and Sandra MacDonald serving the Thai people living in the UK).

We wish Vickie Ross a happy 30th Birthday. Vickie is now away at camp.

YOUTH CAMPS HOODIES

This year the Free Church Youth Camps are offering hooded sweatshirts in a range of colours and sizes, to commemorate 50 years of summer camps. Details and an order form are on the main Free Church website: (priced £20).

KEVIN MACLENNAN

Yesterday the family heard that Kevin (working with SIM UK in Southern Sudan) has contracted Malaria and is being treated for this condition. Do pray for him, for his care and for a good recovery. The cyclists and organizers of the Rosskeen Round Ross ride recently raised £1,400 for Kevin’s building project to deliver a new hospital in partnership with SIM. The riders thank those who showed them hospitality and encouragement during the challenge and thank all who gave to support Kevin’s project.

EVENTS THIS WEEK

Vision and Planning: The Deacons and Elders are going away to Ullapool on Saturday 14 August for a day of prayer, seeking a clearer vision for the work of the church in the years to come, and for detailed planning for the coming months.

Conference on Worship: Our congregation is hosting a meeting of around 250-300 ministers and elders focusing on Biblical teaching on worship and particularly whether the Free Church should permit freedom to local churches to use hymns and instruments in worship as well as the singing of Psalms. This is an important gathering and we ask everyone to pray for wisdom, unity and peace. The conference will be held in Dingwall Free Church on the evening of Monday 23rd and the day and evening of Tuesday 24th August. We would appreciate help with stewarding and serving hot drinks. Caterers will provide main meals to delegates. We would very much appreciate offers of overnight accommodation for some of the conference delegates from other parts of the country. Please sign up if you would like to help with stewarding, teas, or if you can help with accommodation.
