To Whom It May Concern at the Miniature Railroad & Village:
My name is Susan Hefley, and I am the librarian at Dassa McKinney Elementary school. Our school is located in northern Butler and along with the public library and other local organizations and businesses we are planning a Polar Express: Ride into Reading event on December 8, 2005 for our students and community members. We hope that this program will not only motivate and encourage students to read, but it will also show the students and the community how important reading is by coming together to support reading. We are going to be issuing a press release, and all community organizations that make donations to help make this event possible will be mentioned, so that the news organizations also know, and can let the larger community know that we are working together to support reading. As this is a Polar Express themed event we would like to request from you the donation of tickets to visit your Miniature Railroad & Village for at least one family of four. These tickets will be raffled off along with other donated prizes for the students who return their ‘homework’ from this event. We believe that it is imperative that our students become the best readers and we believe that by making reading fun and encouraging families and the community to display an enthusiasm for reading through this Polar Express: Ride into Reading event that we are strongly encouraging constant reading in and out of school. We hope that you can help us to motivate our local students to achieve higher reading levels. Thank you for your time and we look forward to your participation in the Polar Express: Ride into Reading event.
You can contact me via e-mail or phone at any time. I have listed all contact information below.
Thank you on behalf of all of our great readers,
