McLouth High School Scholarship

General Information

This scholarship is renewable for four years, providing the recipient receives a “C” average of above with his/her college or vocational work. He/she must complete at least 25 hours per school year. The student may reapply each year by furnishing the trustees of this scholarship fund a certified copy of his/her transcript by July 15. All information on the application for will be treated in a confidential manner. The amount of the scholarship will be determined by the Trustees of the Scholarship fund.

Stan and Fern would like to establish a $100,000.00 scholarship for the McLouth High School Graduates. We believe that continuing education after high school is very important to prosper in this world today.

Stan was raised in Napoleon, Missouri and after serving in the Army, he returned to Napoleon. In 1947, Stan and Fern Laumeier, also of Napoleon, were married and moved to Independence, Missouri. Stan began his banking career at City National Bank, now UMB of Kansas City.

In 1961, Stan and Fern purchased the Bank of McLouth and moved to McLouth with their children, Kathy and Bob.

Stan was Chairman of the Board and CEO of the bank until his death on February 1, 2006. Stan was a member of Kiwanis many years, treasurer of McLouth Board of Education, served on the board of the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital and was a member of the United Methodist Church, serving on many committees.

Fern has worked at the bank since 1961 and now holds the position of Chairman of the Board. She is a member of the United Methodist Church, has served on various committees, and has been an organist for many years. She is also treasurer for the City of McLouth.

Stan and Fern are honored to establish a scholarship for the young people of this community.
