MiddleSchoolTeamBuilding Retreat
Purpose
The St. Paul Lutheran Middle School “Team Building Retreat” will include purposefully planned, Christ-centered, relationship-building opportunities amongst staff and advisory student groups. Topics and activities will be guided by researched-based classroom management authors to include cooperative learning structured activities to cover procedures, routines, social etiquettes, emotional behaviors and conflict resolution.

Our stay includes one night lodging in six dorms (3 boy and 3 girl) each sleeping 16 people. Lodging includes four meals, beginning with lunch on Monday and ending with lunch on Tuesday.

TeamBuilding Groupings
Students have been prayerfully placed into grade level teams. Teams will be led by a St. Paul faculty member. Students will stay within their teamsthroughout all retreat activities. 6th graders will participate in low ropes activities while building community. 7th graders will spend the first session on the low ropes then move to the high ropes challenge portion of the course during the second session. 8th graders will demonstrate their leadership by participating mainly on the high ropes w/ harness challenge course. The attached waiver and permission slip must be signed and returned for participation.
Supervision
Students will be supervised at all times and will be instructed to adhere to the buddy system when transferring from one activity to another. Students will be sleeping in (same gender)dorm rooms with bunk beds sleeping up to 16 people each. Each dorm room will have at least one (same gender) adult present.
Cost
There will be no charge for thisevent and we are excited to have 100% participation. St. Paul Administration and PTOgraciously continues to support this event and sees the invaluable opportunity it provides our middle school students.

Medication
Medication should be in the original container in a plastic bag with the student’s name listed on it. Written directions should be placed in the bag and given to a school representative Monday morning. Medication will be returned to the parent upon arrival back at school.
