The MVP’s are nominated by their peers and Microsoft Team Managers, based on their positive online or community contributions and their willingness to share technical expertise within online communities or the wider community. The free peer-to-peer support newsgroups are part of the support offerings from Microsoft Product Support Services and are popular avenues for discussion and troubleshooting because people anticipate the participation of knowledgeable volunteers sharing their expertise. The MVP designation is awarded annually since the program began in 1994 and there are only about 2,500 MVP’s in total, named from more than 54 Countries.

Mr. Jenkin earned his award by participating in newsgroups, which provide answers to questions on the Microsoft Small Business Server, and also for community work, a substantial donation of skill and time. The newsgroups are subject to the Internet and are available 24 hours a day. Mr. Jenkin has had various Microsoft Credentials since 1993 and has actively promoted the product since its introduction as Microsoft Windows Small Business Server version 4.0. Mr. Jenkin is a member of the South Australia SBS users group and has volunteered countless hours to assist other administrators of Small Business Servers. He has built servers for the Scouting association for the 20th Scouting Jamboree nationally in Australia.

"It’s an honor to receive this award as very few people hold the MVP – Small Business Server designation world-wide,” stated Mr. Jenkin. “It is a tremendous privilege to receive this recognition from Microsoft, fellow MVP’s, and thousands of Microsoft Small Business Server administrators. Also, this is great tribute to Microsoft and their continuance to produce quality products."
Each year, Microsoft awards the most outstanding members of its online community. The MVP Award is given in recognition of a recipient's technical expertise, spirit of community leadership and willingness to help their peers and customers. MVPs consistently provide reliable and accurate answers to technical questions about Microsoft products and technology. The MVP Program has continued to grow as Microsoft expands its product line. The entire program covering all Microsoft products has approximately 2500 members in more than 54 countries.
"Good Luck. You definitely deserve it!” commented Michael Leaworthy, Microsoft Australia, Windows 2003 server product Manager.
"Well done, now lets see more of you in front of a crowd" added Mark Oshea, Microsoft Australia, Windows Small Business Server product Manager.

With Millennium Business Solutions, Michael has been instrumental in various programs for training staff on SBS and testing SBS. He provides in-house application expertise and helps Millennium Business Solutions customers integrate their programs, networks and business processes with the Small Business product.
