METIQUE® SALON APPLICATIONS:
SALON HYGIENE - Hygiene in the salon is very important. It cannot be stressed enough that simple but regular hand washing is one of the best methods of reducing the transfer of microbes. It has been proven that regular hand washing reduces the risk of regular “flu” by more than 50%.
Unlike many hand washing products, METIQUE® is not harsh on the skin when used frequently. Use METIQUE Antiseptic Skin Wash regularly during the day to ensure optimal hygiene. For sensitive skin use METIQUE® Hygienic Skin Wash which is Sulphate free. If you have physically clean hands but feel you need a “microbial cleanse “without water, use METIQUE® Pre Wax Cleanser for outstanding antimicrobial activity and skin compliance, (4, 5).
SKIN PENETRATION PROCEDURES (ELECTROLYSIS, LASER HAIR REMOVAL,EAR PIERCING)
Use METIQUE® before performing treatments to sanitise and anaesthetise the skin. Skin will be free of micro-organisms and the anaesthetic effect will slightly numb the skin making the treatment more comfortable for your client.
1 Apply METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil or METIQUE® Pre Wax Cleanser to the area with a cotton ball.
2 Perform the treatment.
3 Re – apply METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil after 2 minutes as the numbing effect may diminish.
4 At the end of the treatment, apply METIQUE® After Wax Lotion for a soothing and cooling effect.
WAXING
Use METIQUE® before treatment to sanitise and anaesthetise the skin. Highly recommended for all pre & post waxing (including facial waxing). as METIQUE® may decrease reactions on clients with a predisposition for sensitivity or infection.
1 Apply METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil to smaller areas such as underarm and bikini line. Apply METIQUE® Pre Wax Cleanser to larger areas with cotton wool ball.
2 Perform the waxing treatment.
3 After treatment clean the skin and apply METIQUE® After Wax Lotion for a soothing and cooling effect.
4 Use the After Wax lotion daily to effectively treat and prevent any irritation or ingrown hair problem.
EYE BROW TWEEZING
Apply METIQUE® Pre Wax Cleanser with a cotton ball prior to treatment to sanitise and anaesthetise the skin. Avoid the area closest to the eyes.
FACIAL TREATMENTS
METIQUE® can be used in any facial treatment where irritation, infection or broken skin areas will benefit from the anaesthetic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial qualities of METIQUE®.
AROMATHERAPY
Use 1 to 2ml of METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil in an oil burner to cleanse the air and reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses. Research has shown that as little as 0.004% of Pure Tea Tree Oil in the water droplets in the air effectively kills Influenza virus and Pneumococcal bacteria.
VAPORISER
Apply a few drops of METIQUE®, Pure Tea Tree Oil to the outlets of the Vaporiser (“O” ring- not the water). Use to sanitise the skin during a treatment e.g. acne.
MANICURE
1 Sanitise the nails before and after treatment with METIQUE® Pre Wax Cleanser.
2 Use drops of METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil in the manicure bowl when soaking nails. If any signs of Perionychia are evident, recommend the Client purchases Pure Tea Tree Oil and use twice daily. Pure Tea Tree Oil has been clinically proven to effectively treat Onychomycosis (6).
CUTICLE REMOVER
1 Soak nails for 10 minutes in warm water with drops of METIQUE® Tea Tree Oil, Pat dry.
2 Apply METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil with a cotton ball to each cuticle.
3 Rub in and leave for 5 minutes.
4 Gently ease back each cuticle with a cotton ball moistened with METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil.
ACNE TREATMENT
1 Use the vaporiser method above to cleanse the skin.
2 Apply METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil to any infected area with a cotton ball. For larger areas, cleanse with METIQUE® Skin Wash and water, and apply METIQUE® After Wax Lotion daily after treatment.
Tea Tree Oil has been proven to be as effective in the treatment of acne as Benzoyl peroxide (8).
COLOUR IMPLANT / PERMANENT MAKE –UP / COSMETIC TATTOOING
Apply METIQUE® Pre Wax Cleanser with cotton ball prior to treatment to sanitise the skin and minimise the risk of infection. Be careful when applying to areas close to the eyes.
BODY MASSAGE / SPA TREATMENT
METIQUE® is ideal for pre and post treatment to ensure total hygiene and sanitation. These products protect your clients while caring for their skin.
BODY BRUSHING
1 Use a natural bristle brush to firmly stroke towards the heart to encourage the body to release toxins and increase lymphatic circulation.
2 Soak in a warm bath with 4 to 5ml of METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil for a few minutes. Pat dry.
3 Apply METIQUE® After Wax Lotion.
CELLULITE
To stimulate the lymphatic system and thereby reduce the signs of cellulite, massage thighs and buttocks twice daily with a mixture of 5ml METIQUE® Pure Tea Tree Oil and 5ml Jojoba Oil.
