MEOPHAM SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION FACULTY

The PE department is fully committed to promoting the ‘Healthy Mind in a Health Body’ vision of the school. We embody, absolutely, the sporting ethos at Meopham in our attitude, demeanour and enthusiasm. We are keen to encourage and motivate both pupils and colleagues in their sporting endeavours.

As a Specialist School we are totally committed to raising standards across the whole school using sport as the vehicle.

The successful candidate will join a very strong and enthusiastic team committed to working collaboratively in a high achieving department across the Key Stages.

In the PE Faculty at Meopham School it is our objective to ensure that the pupils appreciate the reasons for physical health and exercise and gain enjoyable and educational experience of a wide range of activities. We feel, at Meopham School, that education is a life long process and that all pupils should leave school with enough interest, understanding and expertise to equip them for active and enjoyable adult lifestyles.

We are passionate about every student leaving school with a sporting accreditation for their work and progress in PE, whether it is BTEC, GCSE, A-Levelor Sports Leaders Award. BTEC National Diplomas, A-Levelsand the Community Sports Leadership Award are offered in the sixth form.

It is essential that the right candidate can teach dynamically across the entire ability and age range. A keen desire, ability and enthusiasm to deliver BTEC would be a strong advantage.

The success of the department has very much been focused on the following areas:

  • Strategic direction and development of Physical Education (PESSCL strategy)
