MENGEL’S ‘MINDERS: 9/13/10
- SPRING TRIP INFORMATION DISTRIBUTED: Information for this year’s SPRING BAND TRIP TO WILLIAMSBURG was distributed to all band members at practice this past Thursday night. Please see Mr. Mengel if you did not receive a copy. Permission slips are due Sept. 24th and first payments are due November 5th.
- BAND JACKET ORDER DEADLINE EXTENDED: Orders for the 2010 OJR Band Jacket will be taken through this Thursday, Sept. 16th. The jacket style was changed for this year to an Under Armour. Sample jacket sizes are available to try on in Mr. Mengel’s office. If you are interested in ordering a band jacket, please stop in to try one on for size and complete the attached order form. Mrs. Wendy Dorfler is in charge of the jacket orders this year and if you have any questions you can contact Mrs. Dorfler at or at 610-970-7993. (Some of you have been waiting for a size ‘small’ jacket to try on and that is now available, so stop in my office.)
- CHEESECAKE/COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER ORDERS DUE TODAY: Just a reminder that orders are due today for the first major fundraiser of the year for the OJR Music Parents. (Profits from this fundraiser will go to the MPO.) Delivery is sometime during the week of Sept. 27th. If youhave any questions please contact either Mrs. Liz Willow at: or Mrs. Cindy Martorana at .
- FIRST COMPETITION NEXT SATURDAY: It’s coming up fast………our first band competition for the season is next Saturday (9/25/10) at Boyertown. The plan for the day will be to practice from 1:30pm to 4:30pm that afternoon, then we’ll have dinner together in our cafeteria before we head for Boyertown. I’m going to attach the schedule for Boyertown here. If anyone needs directions to BoyertownHigh School just let me know.
- PEP RALLY: This Friday (9/17/10) is our first pep rally in the stadium. Band members will be dismissed from class at 1:00pm to prepare. Everyone should wear your band t-shirts to the pep rally so we look uniform. (You won’t be allowed to join us unless you wear your t-shirt!)
- PRINTER CARTRIDGE & CELL PHONE COLLECTION REMINDER: Just a reminder that the band parents have an on-going fundraiser which is the collection of used ink-jet printer cartridges and old cell phones. This has been raising a good deal of funds for the organization, so please consider saving those old cartridges and bring them in. A collection box is outside Mr. Mengel’s office in the band room.
