  1. WEAPON CONTROL

Weapons control will take place in the venue of the competition inthe Grand Théâtre National, Parc culturel- Autoroute prolongée x Lamine GUEYE,

  • Thursday, November 317:00–20:00
  • Friday, November 48:00 –9:30
  • Saturday, November 58:00 – 9:30
  • Sunday, November 68:30 11:00
  1. INFORMATION DISPLAY

Information displays are planned:

-Next to the DT

-In official hotels

Only concerned fencers, referees, and the piste assistantswill be allowed to enter the fencing area as defined by the barriers. Access to the fencing area will be subject to control by attendants.

Fencers who are in the fencing area are required to keep their equipment in a closed fencing bag at the end of the piste, and these must be removed straight away at the end of the match.

All fencers and referees are required to be present:

  • for the pools on the piste 10 minutes before the start of the bouts
  • for tableau of 64 on the piste 15 minutes before the start of the bouts
  • for tableau of 32: in the call room 15 minutes before the scheduled start of play

Attention: If it is possible, matches can start 5 minutes before the scheduled time.

  1. COMPETITIONS

INDIVIDUAL

The informationwill be displayed:

At 15:00.the day before the competition:

  • The list of fencers entered
  • The FIE official ranking for the event
  • The qualifying pools, including the timetable and piste number for each pool.

Confirmation of results

  • It is the responsibility of the fencers to ensure that the results of the pools and their direct elimination fights are recorded correctly.
  • To avoid any sort of error, the DT will publish the pool results and the list of qualifiers and eliminated fencers after the round of pools following the completion of all pools. The delegations have 5 minutes to submit any disputes.
  • The tableau of direct elimination, with timetable and piste numbers will be displayed after the time of protest has expired.

Organization of the tableau of 32 through to the final

  • All fencers winning their matches in the tableau of 64 must go immediately to the weapons control in the call room.
  • Special places indicated by barriers designated for coaches will be found on each colored piste. The coaches may not leave this area except during the minute break.
  • A specific protocol will be applied from the table 32, 16 and 8. Fencers (dressed in full fencingequipment) and the referees will be escorted by volunteers from the call room to their respective pistes.
  • The representative of the Weapon Control delivers the weapons in a fencing bag to volunteers who will join the fencers and referees when they are escorted to the colored pistes.

TEAMS COMPETITION

11:00- 12:00 On Saturday, 5 November (the day before the team competition)

Confirmation of the compositions of teams next to the DT

At 14:00 the day before the competition

  • The entry list for teams
  • The official FIE ranking for the concerned competition
  • The direct elimination tableau for the team event with timetable and pistes for each match

Organization of the tableau of 16 upto the final

  • All the teams who win their last matches in the tableau of 8 must go immediately to the weapons control in the call room.
  • Special places indicated by barriers designated for teams will be found on each colored piste. The team members may not leave this area.
  • A specific protocol will be applied from Table of 8. The fencers (dressed in full fencing attire) and the referees will be escorted by volunteers from the call to their respective pistes.
  • The representative of the Weapon Control delivers the weapons in a fencing bag to volunteers who will join the fencers and referees when they are escorted to the colored pistes.

Presentation of the finalists

  • The 4finalists will be presented on the piste to the public before the start of the semi-finals with their fencing uniforms
  • The team finalists (3rd place and final) are presented to the public on the piste
  • They will presentthemselves in full fencingequipment, with a weapon in their hand.
  • They salute the public with the guard to their chin.
  • The referees of the final are presented as well.
  • The awards ceremony will take place 15 minutes after the last final of the day.
