• Background from 2011 overview, built clinical improvement plan
• Clinical Improvement Plan launched in 2013 and updated in 2017 with much-need for standardized training full day sessions, learning modules, and skills labs
• Current training focus is on clinical support staff, site visits and consults. Providing monthly data to practices on individual vaccines.
• New this year: 2 dose HPV reports (Epic) – change from the 3 dose of previous years
• Review of trends of over 12 months for various vaccines shows improvement, especially pleased in the 13-year-old HPV 3 dose series). Growth partly because of kids previously involved in vaccinations aged in successfully.
• CDC benchmark chart from 38 % (HepB) & 38% (Influenza) up to 70% Hib rates. Could be first dose not documented. How can we train people to do this.
• HPV & MCV4 both improved, Tdap remained the same at 88%.
• Focused childhood immunization initiatives: working with Epic-ImmPact for both outpatient and inpatient; pediatric system service line to provide technical assistance and on-site coaching, gain consensus on single schedule, and improve data transparency; and system quality dashboard-10 measures chosen, % 2 year olds receiving doses on time, target 58% by 9/2018.
• Worked with: clinicial champions, practice-level champions, non-traditional partners (such as oral health and cancer communities).
• Looking ahead: standard schedule, standard set of best practices, reduce inconsistencies (family practices, vs pediatric practices), vaccine specific approach, continue supporting data transparency.
• % of practices meeting CDC benchmarks for individual vaccines, 2 year olds reflected in chart
• What strategies work best: plant for knowing patients and outreach, provider educating patients, consistency in offering, listen to your patient (why no) and educate, offering at acute visits (especially adolescents), during specific checkups (like asthma checkups, sports injuries).
• What barriers exist: transportation, scheduling, working with care giver, hard to get, practices to actually get things going. Small family practices concerns not ordering because of vaccine waste.
• What practices have gone on-site to locations? A couple of practices opened up on Saturdays and evenings for this. They offered gas gift cards (although no-one took them).

• Aim to elevate the health of children by measurably improving the screening, diagnosis and treatment for Attendion Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
• Use the right tools to evaluate, help parents to understand what this means, working with Maine Parent Federation how to talk with the parents. Is behavior therapy the first line of treatment?
• Kickoff webinar, September 14; learning session October 20; webinars, 11/9, 1/11, 2/8, 3/8, developing two online modules, final learning session April 13 in conjunction with MAAP meeting.

• Day 2, April 14, Dr. Ratey will give 2nd talk to dig into the brain chemistry, related to exercise to help kids manage. Expert in concussion management also coming. Vision screening and opthomology expert also speaking. There be segment on provider wellness. Someone will talk about HIPPA and FRMA (Dept of Education). Presentation on new integrated youth health survey (CDC).
• Working with FTFT – education on kids getting in when first tooth errupts, fluoride varnish, children’s mental health, legislators, ACES and mental health, suicide prevention and abuse, substance abuse, obesity.

• Launch Maine specific oral health challenge & recognition program, December 12 will talk about that
• January launch for virtual training for Smiles for Life, module 6 for Mas and clinical staff.
