MEMBER TRANSFER POLICY

  • A member may transfer any time he moves or a new Nam Knights Chapter is established closer to his residence. There is no limit on the number of times a member may transfer for this reason.
  • A member is permitted one “free” transfer without reasonor approval of his chapter. A free transfer is described as any transfer to a different chapter without a change in the member’s residence or the formation of a chapter closer to such residence. The transfer must however be geographically reasonable as determined by the Parent Chapter Executive Board’s review.
  • If a member requests an additional “free” transfer it must be approved by the Parent Chapter Executive Board. The Parent Chapter Executive Board may request additional documentation from the member, his current chapter or the chapter he wishes to transfer to. Every case is decided on an individual basis; no precedents will be set.
  • Transfer Procedure:
  1. In order to affect a transfer the requesting member must first obtain the form from his current chapter and have it signed by the Chapter President. The Chapter President will confer with his chapter to insure the member has no outstanding issues and is in “good standing.” (Dues and/or fees paid up, charges not pending etc.)
  1. The form will be sent to the requesting member’s new chapter. The Chapter President will sign the request and send it to the Parent Chapter for review.
  1. The transfer is NOT complete until signed off by the Parent Chapter Executive Board which will notify all chapters electronically.

(NOTE: The member transfer will be reviewed at a Parent Chapter Executive Board meeting and is not unilaterally signed off upon receipt. Depending on when it is received 30 days or more may elapse before the transfer is deemed reviewed and effective. Once a transfer is approved the chapters involved will be notified by phone. A monthly email will be sent to all chapters informing them of all transfers and deletions.)

  • A chapter cannot deny a “move” transfer request for a member in good standing. No vote is required from either the member’s current chapter or his new chapter.

(NOTE: The reason for this is simple. If a member moves from area A to area B and his transfer is not accepted by chapter B a full patched member is now riding in the chapter’s area without supervision of the chapter in the area or his old chapter. The integrity of the club is paramount; we do not allow “NOMAD” members.

Any questions regarding this policy or a specific transfer should be directed to the Parent Chapter Executive Board.
