Member Reappointed to Ayrshire & Arran NHS Board

The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport today announced the reappointment of Lisa Tennant as a member of Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board

Member

Lisa Tennant - After developing and selling her own social business in Ayrshire, Lisa worked in the property sector as Director of a company with a varied commercial and residential portfolio. In 2010, Lisa set up a consultancy serving the public, private and voluntary sectors and became Executive Director of a regional public/private partnership in Ayrshire. Lisa sits as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of The Ethical Property Company, the Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal and the Scottish Police Authority, where she is lead Board member for Ayrshire. Lisa has a keen interest in diversity and is involved in several diversity groups including Scottish Changing the Chemistry and Women on Boards.

Reappointment

The reappointment will be for two years and will run from 1st July 2016 to 30th June 2018.

The reappointment is regulated by the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland

Remuneration

This reappointment is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £8,088 for a time commitment of 8 hours per week.

Ministerial Public Appointment

Lisa is a Member of the Scottish Police Authority, for which she receives remuneration of £300 a day for a time commitment of 5 days per month. She is also a lay member of Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal and receives £280 a day for a time commitment of 1 day per quarter.


Political Activity

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance ay the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public. Lisa has not undertaken any political activity in the last 5 years.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is responsible for meeting the health needs of around 400,000 people living in the area, and provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services for the population.
