Old Business:

Casey’s Pizza Fundraiser was tabled until another time. Youth’s decided so many other things were going on they will look at Casey’s down the road if they feel they should do another fundraiser beyond what we have planned.

All Breed Shank-less Showmanship and all breed Walk Trot will be added to the youth show for a class cost at the gate of $5.00 per exhibitor – winner will get half of the proceeds and the youth club will get the other half. We are looking onto getting a sponsor to donate $50 for each class to increase the award payout.

Logo Contest deadline is March 1st and we are still looking for entries, winners will get a FREE stall for Friday and Saturday night and two bags of bedding at the last show as well as a FREE shirt featuring their logo.

We will have NPtHA clothing items for sale on the web site once the logo has been decided on.

New Business:

We would like to do some Community Service activities as a group such as visiting the Children’s Hospital; taking some Miniature Horses to some area nursing homes, etc. Youth advisor will contact youth members with dates at a later time.

We also talked about doing some fun group activities such as movies or bowling – no details were set at this time.It was decided that it would be easiest to send out some prospective dates through doodle.com survey to see which dates would work the best for the most youth members.

We will have all youth who want to participate do Stall Decorating at the Youth Show as well as a poster contest and herdmanship with prizes for the various age groups. Youth are encouraged to decorate their stalls and have their posters up at all shows but they will only be judged at the youth show.

We handed out a JNPtHATake the Lead Service Project information sheet as well as the point system chart that each youth that participates will fill out. This starting year this activity started February 19 with the youth meeting and will end October 31. The charting sheets will need to be turned into Jamie Yeager by November 10of 2017 to be eligible for awards at the 2017 Awards Banquet. Youth can do as much as they want with prizes being awarded for each age group at the fall banquet.

The youth club is bringing back the $10 for $10 Youth Show Show Sponsorship. Forms were handed out as per the attached copy. Each child will strive to achieve a minimum of $10 for 10 different sponsors to donate towards the show/club.

Lastly, Youth will be laminating show numbers for $5 a set at the Spring Meeting and the first weekend show.

Other events to help spread the word of Nebraska Youth were also discussed such as the possibility of Royalty handing out ribbons at the Columbus Horse Races at one of their races, or all youth who wish to participate handing out information concerning Nebraska Pinto at Bomgaars or TSC when they are having one of their big sales. We also are looking into having Nebraska Pinto represented at the Seward Parade this summer, Jaci Behlen is getting the information on this.
