Place of work / Options for Life, Oak Green Lodge, Oak Way, Oldbury,
West Midlands, B68 8LR. Regular travel will be required to
any premises from which Options for Life operates. Also to
other locations as required by the role.
Job summary / The Business Support Manager will have overall
responsibility for ensuring the effective management and
delivery of the community hubs. The hubs provide day opportunities to support people with a learning disability (participants) to live their lives to the full and advance their personal development in line with the strategy of Options for
Life.
The Business Support Manager will ensure that all business deliverables are completed to a consistently high standard, within budget, to agreed success criteria, and deliver the expected business benefits. They will work at pace, with flexibility and agility responding to changing business needs and priorities responsively,overseeing all aspects of business change, in line with agreed priorities, across Options for Life, delivering change initiatives that drive business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities

·  To ensure that participants have their say and are included in all aspects of Options for Life. This will be achieved by working with participants to identify and support their rights and responsibilities, issues and needs using a variety of approaches and communication methods.

·  Apply leadership and effective management for frontline delivery of supporting people with a learning disability and/or autism.

·  To be the key contact for the day to day management of day opportunities.

·  Have a detailed knowledge of front line delivery and how this meets the aims and objectives of the organisation.

·  Lead teams through the transformation of the organisation in line with Options for Life’s 5 Year Strategy, national and local policy and commissioner’s expectations, supporting the CEO, board of Trustees in delivering this.

·  To provide day to day operational support to the hub teams, including all aspects of line management responsibilities and day to day HR support, ensuring the ongoing training and development of employees.

·  Provide robust and appropriate management for employees in line with OfL policies and procedures, seeking line management support and specialist advice as required.

·  Implement and maintain a process across Options for Life to ensure accurate and comprehensive records are kept with timely follow up and action.

·  To ensure accurate records and individual support plans are maintained and regularly reviewed.

·  Ensure the teams contribute and champion effective communication in all aspects of their work.

·  To attend meetings across the organisation as required by the role, including attending board meetings as required and in the occasional absence of the CEO.

·  To proactively provide accurate and timely management information as required.

·  Monitor and evaluate service delivery and take any action as required and agreed in order to ensure ongoing development and quality.

·  Be aware of and take up the opportunities of commissioning, funding and commercial opportunities by, for example but not limited to submitting funding applications and the development of social businesses and enterprises to maximise the opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

·  Manage all aspects of service level agreements, contracts and funders requirements.

·  To develop and strengthen networks and partnerships working with key stakeholders and partner organisations to progress the aims and objectives of Options for Life, including a Social Business approach. To attend external meetings as the role requires.

·  To work effectively as a member of the Options for Life team.

·  To uphold and champion the values of the organisation, acting as a role model to others, building a confident, energetic, customer focussed organisation committed to continual improvement and development.

·  To be a champion for equality across Options for Life.

·  To contribute to, and actively promote the philosophy, values and aims of Options for Life.

·  To take responsibility for your own continuous professional development, including attending training events and conferences as appropriate.

·  To ensure policies and procedures are implemented across Options for Life, to contribute appropriately to their review and to carry out all duties with due regard to the organisation’s policies and procedures, and to ensure that statutory requirements are complied with including safeguarding.

·  To undertake other such duties and responsibilities, commensurate with the responsibilities of the post, as may be reasonably required within the overall aims of Options for Life

Formal Qualifications

·  Educated to degree level or equivalent

People Management

·  Experience in leading different teams

·  Extensive experience of managing people

ICT Skills

·  Proficient in MS Office (or similar) as required to be successful in the role.

Health and Safety

·  Good understanding of health and safety requirements, a demonstrable commitment to the implementation of policies and procedures, knowledge of health and safety principles and the ability to ensure excellent day to day application.

Probationary Period

·  6 months
