Meeting Minutes/Update
- The work group gave a great presentation to NEADA members on March 2, 2011 from 9:00am to 10:15am at the Hall of States in Washington, DC.
- A discussion was conduct after the presentation and several implementation issues were identified. Notes from this discussion have been uploaded under the Meeting Minutesfile category of Basecamp.
- The work group met at the AerospaceBuilding in Washington, DC on March 3, 2011 from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Cari, Susan, Jane, Akm, Ralph, Leslie, Melissa, Lauren, Leon, Matt, and Chad attended.
- Recommendations were developed in response to the issues identified from the presentation discussion. These recommendations have been uploaded to the Planning Documents file category of Basecamp. I formatted the recommendations in a Q&A style table that we can expand.
- Each subgroup met and made progress on their respective work assignments.
- Changes were made to the strategic plan; an updated version has been uploaded under the Planning Documents file category of Basecamp.
- The group provided Mr. Nick St. Angelo, Director of DEA, with a progress update and he was very impressed. He stated that funds will, most likely, be available to assist the work group in executing its plan/recommendations and that the Yolanda letter does not need to include actual funding amounts and should be sent in spring/early summer.
- Everyone in attendance agreed to continue their involvement with the group for another year, pending unforeseen life events like retirement or another job offer. We agreed to recruit new members in another six months and to target representatives from cooling program States. Once the templates and tools get completed, we will recruit members to fill roles based on the new work and subgroups that emerge.
- See strategic plan for the rollout dates for the next newsletter, process overlay tools, and tier 2 templates.
- Basecamp will be ready for State grantees and invitations will be sent to them by April.

- Melissa will look into web-based database options and report back.
- Communications will finish the layout of Basecamp for the State grantees and send the invitations by April.
- Process will complete three of the overlays by April.
