Meeting Minutes for February 21, 2011

Club Attendance:

o  All attendees were given New Member Welcome Packet.

Treasury Report: Tom Matthews

·  Current Balance: $2194

o  Balance includes $236 from sale of donated items on Ebay.

·  Upcoming Expense: Gasoline for Longview $60

·  Club voted on and approved up to $225 for a van rental if necessary to transport modules 2 and 3 to Longview.

Membership/Recruitment Report: Dave

·  Perspective Members are David Hummel and Sterling Hawthorne.

North Texas Council: Dave

·  Approximate income from shares at the Plano Show is $600

·  Plano venue will remain the same but cost of shares has risen to $375.

·  Requirement to cover the cost of concessions of $8750 over two and a half days has prompted the council to investigate a new venue for 2013.

·  Irving venue would require $8 parking fees per day but has no concession requirement.

·  Club voted on and approved to maintain 2 shares with the NTX council.

VP Corner - Jeff

·  Plano Show went well with trains running on Friday night.

Next Club Setup: Longview Model Train Show

·  Location: Fairgrounds Exhibits building, Jaycee Road, Longview, TX

(Same place as last year)

·  Dates: March 18th – March 20th

·  Setup: Friday, 18th Noon-9:00

·  Saturday: 19th, 7:00-5:00 (Public 10-5)

·  Sunday: 20th, 7:00-6:00 (Public 11-4)

·  Teardown: 20th, from 4:00-6:00

·  Stanchions will be used and signs (No Touching) will be used.

·  No Club meeting will be held at this show.

·  Modules 8 & 9 will use Frisco buildings.

·  Skip may be able to transport modules 2 and 3 pending vehicle measurements.

·  SCMRR Annual Club Dinner

o  Cotton Patch Cafe

o  Saturday Night, 19th at 6:00PM

Modules:

·  Modules 2, 3, 12 & 17 are still available.

Committee Reports

Operating Session Committee: Jim

·  The Great Western Railroad Club in Ft. Worth will make their layout available for a joint operating session in April. Details to follow.

·  Chris Atkins has offered to let us return for another ops session with Southside.

DART/TRE Railfanning Trip will be scheduled after Longview Show.

Next Club Meeting: No Club meeting scheduled for March

April 18th at Michael Calleia’s Home at 7:30PM

Meeting “Train-Time” provided by Skip. Skip presented information on bargins at Albertsons and passed around a yard structure he was working on.

Jeff Liedl was elected to position of President.

Chris Siemantel was elected to position of Vice President of Operations.

Leonard Siemantel was elected to position of Secretary.

Tom Matthews was re-elected to position of Treasury.

Dave Griffith was re-elected to position of Vice President of Membership and Recruitment.

Mike Crawford was re-elected to position of Board Member.

Glenn Diefenbach was elected to position of Board Member.
