Welcome back!

It really was lovely to see all the children thrilled to see their friends again and looking so smart in their new uniforms when they returned to school this week, thank you for supporting the school in maintaining high uniform standards. We hope you all had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the break in routine. With all this smart new uniform around school PLEASE make sure it is named, even if it is just written on the size label and as the weather becomes a little cooler, please make sure your child has a coat in school for playtimes. Extreme haircuts, patterns or colours are also not permitted in school as part of our uniform code. We welcome several new members of staff and some in new roles this term.

Wellies!

Please remember all children need a pair of wellies or old boots in school, and all junior children must have a pair of trainers as part of their school uniform to undertake outdoor learning activities.

Meet the new teacher

Over the summer all staff have been working hard to create bright and vibrant learning environments. We hope you enjoying seeing your child’s new classroom and meeting their new staff on Tuesday of this week. If you missed this opportunity, please take a moment to say hello at the end of the day as the children are brought out of school. A parents’ information evening will be held on Tuesday 17th October from 6.00-8.00 pm, when you are invited to meet your child’s teacher and support staff, view your child’s classroom environment, review their progress to date and collect their autumn term personal targets. More details to follow.

Communications

This newsletter is created every Thursday and is sent to all parents as an email attachment and is posted onto the school’s webpage. It is our main method of home/school communications. Please check your email inbox every Thursday. If you find the newsletter is missing you can read a copy of it, along with other communications on-line, at our website on the above address. If you are the first contact for your child, please remember to keep your mobile phone switched on at all times in case of emergency text communications.

Open morning and primary school places.

If you have friends or family with a child who will have their 4th birthday this year, please encourage them to make an appointment to view school at work on Mondays at 11.15 and submit an application for a place. More details on our website homepage.

Holidays in term time

Unless it is an “exceptional circumstance,” Headteachers are no longer permitted to authorise holidays in term time. Can I therefore please remind you of our expectation that children are not taken out of school in term time for family holidays, especially during this important autumn term? All time in school is valuable learning time. Thank you for your support. Our holiday dates are on our website under the “Holiday” tab. A copy of these is listed below.

Extra-curricular activities

Most of the school’s programme of extra-curricular activities will begin again from w/c Monday 18th September (unless otherwise notified) The activities on offer this year will be listed in next week’s newsletter. Individual staff/adults running the activities will be sending out details and consent letters.

Car Park

Please remember the school car park is for staff and kitchen deliveries only. It should not be used by parents visiting school for any reason, including for breakfast or after school clubs.
