4.  Approval of October Meeting Minute – Motion to approve by Erik Reisser, Seconded by Steve Laudenslager – Motion Passed

5.  Treasurer’s Report – Erik Reisser reported that MLLA had a loss for the month of October due to the fact that we have expenses related to fall ball. Money coming in during the month of October was from the Chris Heisey Fundraiser and from Jill Beauverd Memorial Contributions.

6.  Discussion of Commissioner Reports – no additions

a)  Steve Laudenslager reported regarding his work with Upper Allen regarding the Teener Program.

7.  Discussion of Active Committee Reports – none

8.  Old Business

a) Joint Concession Stand Status – We have received donations/pledges of approximately $36,000. Brian Jamiolkowski worked with the architect to develop a plan that would be more cost effective ($280,000) and is looking to work on permits (plan is distributed). Brian is working on letters soliciting local businesses for donations. List of businesses to be solicited has been distributed. If you have a contact at any of the businesses or you are interested in contacting the business, please let Brian Jamiolkowski know. There has been an in-kind donation for some electrical work, but at the present time what is most needed is monetary donations or commitment to donate. Any amount is appreciated and monies can be committed over a period of up to 3 years. Even $10 a month over 3 years from several individuals really adds up. In addition to individual donations, we are also waiting to hear about two grant opportunities that could equal up to $150,000.

b) Batting Cages – Chris Sellers will be reviewing the site this week and hopes to start work on Saturday, December 1st. E-mail confirmation will be sent if help is needed Saturday.

c) Chris Heisey Fundraiser – Went very well. Players, Parents and Chris Heisey enjoyed themselves. Event raised around $1,100 for the league as Chris donated his time. A contribution will be made to McBIC in appreciation for using their facility.

d) Evaluations are scheduled for Sunday February 3rd and 10th at the High School and will be held for 7-12s. 6 year olds are not required to attend unless wishing to be considered for instructional baseball. In order to best evaluate the players for their appropriate level. 2/3 will be 7-9 with the 7s first. 2/10 will be 10-12 and by invitation to return for further evaluation by the majors coaches. We anticipate all league commissioners will be present for all evaluations and we are entertaining the option of inviting disinterested third parties (i.e. former MLLA managers, coaches, board members) to serve on the evaluation panel.

Sharing for the Good of the Order

Cindy Schmidt will move forward in securing a potential donation from Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Cindy will also inquire about Hershey Park Tickets & Ski Roundtop Passes to be raffled at Opening Day.

Erik Reisser suggested that the outside of the concession area at Finkenbinder could use “beautification.” While the board agreed – it was decided that any improvements would be immediately vandalized and Jeff Shatzer suggested efforts be concentrated on turning the Memorial East field into a Minors field (and turning it the correct way out of the sun)

Erik was also contacted by a uniform company and was provided with samples of jerseys, a windbreaker & pants. The cost of the uniform shirts will be reviewed and said samples will be given as prizes on Opening Day.

Jeff Shatzer voiced that MLLA is always open to discussion with Upper Allen about a league merger. MLLA’s goal is putting the best team out on the field and feels that goal is achieved without a division between Mechanicsburg and Upper Allen baseball.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:49pm.
