of the Year Award

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center (UDETC) annually recognize a law enforcement agency whose commitment to reducing underage drinking at the local community or state level has resulted in notable accomplishments in the three areas listed below.

Measurable reductions in alcohol availability to youth.

Innovative implemented programs such as training for law enforcement, community or merchants or work that has not been done in the community before.

Recognition by peer agencies, the local community and/or media coverage.

Nominations for the Agency of the Year award must be submitted through the EUDL state/territory coordinator and include the approval of the chief executive officer of the local, county or state/territory agency. Activities must be directly related to the EUDL program for consideration.

Additional supporting documentation must include:

3-5 Letters of recommendation from agencyheads,supervisors, citizens or community leaders. Letters should not exceed 2 pages in length.

Copies of official reports, records, statements or photographs that demonstrate the agency’s work in the area of underage drinking has produced measurable reductions in underage use, sales of alcohol to underage and/or increased enforcement measures in the community.

Copies of media coverage recognizing the agency’s efforts to increase enforcement efforts or measurable reductions in alcohol availability to youth.

Coordinators are limited to one nomination in this category.

NOTE: EUDL state/territory coordinators and persons employed by the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation or their relatives are ineligible to be nominated for this award.

In order to be considered, nominations must be complete, submitted on time and shall not exceed 15 pages in length

Your submission may include information that will allow a reviewer to visit a web link (e.g. YouTube) to watch a feature about the nominee. Please do not include video tapes, CD’s or other bulk video media with your submission.
