REORGANIZATIONAL MEETING of the COMMON COUNCIL of the City of Cuba City, April 19, 2016

Mayor Thomas J Gile presiding. Called to order at 7:00 pm.

Present: Mayor Gile, Alderpersons JF Beinborn, GA Bockhop, J Van De Wiel, C Gronemus, CJ Hendrickson, B Loeffelholz, GA Kern, DH Risher

Also Present: R Wallenhorst, G Morrissey

Mayor Gile asked all present to join in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Gile noted that the agenda for this meeting was posted on the bulletin board at City Hall and emailed to the Tri-County Press on April 15, 2015. Moved by Bockhop and seconded by Hendrickson that the Common Council find that this meeting was properly called and convened and proper notice given pursuant to s. 19.84, Wis. Stats. Motion Carried: Ayes – 8; Noes – 0

Public Comments – It was suggested to start a Fire Commission. This would need to be presented at a Common Council Meeting.

DH Risher nominated JF Beinborn to serve as the President of the Council. J Van De Wiel seconded this motion. Moved and seconded that the nominations be closed and a unanimous ballot to cast for Beinborn to serve as the President of the Council. Motion Carried: Motion Carried: Ayes – 8; Noes – 0

JF Beinborn nominated GA Kern and GA Bockhop to serve as the City’s representative to the Cuba City Area Rescue Squad Advisory Board. CJ Hendrickson seconded this motion. Moved by Beinborn and seconded by Loeffelholz that the nominations be closed and a unanimous ballot be cast for Bockhop and Kern to serve as the City’s representative to the Cuba City Area Rescue Squad Advisory Board. Motion Carried: Ayes – 8; Noes – 0

Moved By Risher and seconded by Van De Wiel to accept the Adoption of Resolution 2016-1 Designating Public Depositories and Authorizing Withdrawal of City Monies. Motion Carried: Ayes – 8; Noes – 0

The following changes were suggested on the committee appointments presented by the Mayor:

• GA Kern to replace GL McWilliams on Public Works Committee. Moved by Beinborn and seconded by Hendrickson. Motion Carried: Ayes – 8; Noes – 0
• Remove Gary Droessler from Plan Commission and replace at a further date. Moved by Hendrickson and seconded by Loeffelholz. Motion Carried: Ayes – 8; Noes – 0

Moved by Risher and seconded by Van De Wiel that the Common Council approve the above mayoral appointments with amendments as suggested. Motion Carried: Ayes – 8; Noes – 0

Mayor Gile appointed Director of Public Works George Morrissey to serve as Weed Commissioner

The Council received the following informational items:

1. Assessor’s Open Book for 2016 Assessments – Monday, May 2, 2016 – 4:00-6:00pm
2. Regular Meeting – Wednesday, May 4, 2016 – 7:00 pm
3. Board of Review – Tuesday, May 17, 2016 – 1:00-3:00pm
4. League of Wisconsin Municipalities 2016 Local Government 101 Workshop –Madison, WI – May 20

Moved by Beinborn and seconded by Bockhop that this meeting adjourns. Motion carried: Ayes-8; Noes-0. 7:32 pm.
