A NOTE MUST BE PROVIDED ON THE DAY YOU RETURN TO SCHOOL FROM BEING ABSENT.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL MISSED WORK/QUIZZES/TESTS

TESTS 1 – pre-test before every test

2 – absent – bring a note on the day you return

- you must write the test on your own time (lunch or after school)

- this should be ASAP

3 – retesting will occur once a term BUTONLY for those that achieved less than 60%

-you must have received help in preparation for the retest and

the highest you will attain is a 60%

QUIZZES/ ASSIGNMENTS

1- most, are written in a quiz book

2 - late – you will be writing at lunch or after school depending on the block

- if you do not show up, admin/counsellor will be informed

3 – absent - bring a note on the day you return and the mark will be omitted

no note, no mark until you write the quiz/assignment

HOMEWORK

Completion of homework is not an option. Homework will be checked once per chapter for completion. Any problem questions will be explained. All homework for a chapter must be completed before writing the chapter test. You may come in at lunch or after school to complete the homework and get help. You are responsible for getting missed homework completed and checked. Homework assigned is always written on the side board and on my blog on the school’s website jo-online.vsb.bc.ca . You all have your own school email and I will also collect your email addresses. Please make sure you know how to access it. You can also contact me by email

Minimum requirement for a pass: on time for class, regular attendance, quizzes, homework and assignments completed, all tests written with an overall passing grade and participation in the course.

ExtraHelp:Please ask for help at any time. The sooner the better! I am available most lunch times and after school. Please ask to make sure that I do not have prior commitments.

NecessaryEquipment:Pencil (required to write tests/quizzes/homework)

Pen (for note taking)

Eraser, Ruler

Calculator (grade 9-12 should be scientific)

(grade 11/12 should have a graphing calculator as well)

Textbook (may be on line/in class copies/some courses do not have)

Notebook or Binder with paper to write notes and do work

Workbook (some grades)
